I bought these the last time they were on sale. For $50, I am happy. Initially I didn't find the soul to be comfortable, but they broke in quick and I don't even notice an issue any longer. I've had them for about a month now. I would bite at this price if I were in need today.

I got these last month and had to return them. I reliably fit in size 11M in most shoes, including 2 other models of Merrell hikers that I've owned for a while. The Akitas appear to run narrow.

I saw some guy talk about using these in 80 degree and his feet didn't get hot from 3 mile run and 5 mile hike. Anyone who owns can these be used outside winter?

Noo. I saw they have wide in these. All the Merrell deals I saw were just medium so this is what drew me in. Damn

I got these a month ago for both me and my partner, and we're both loving them for going on wet, cold, PNW fall hikes. Keeps our feet warm and dry for hours in wet and muddy conditions.

For sizing, I'm usually an 8.5 in Merrells, but I had to return my 8.5s and go up to a 9. My partner is a 6.5 wide in Merrells, but they didn't have women's wide in her size so we did a 7 and they fit her perfectly. So I'd suggest going a half size up from your normal size in either the men's or women's version.

Also the Earth color is a bit more brown and muted than they look in the photos - I got those as they were out of my size in black, and I actually like the touch of color even though I usually prefer black everything.

They've taken a couple hikes to break in, but they're getting more comfortable the more we wear them. We both plan to put insoles in them to help with that, but they're really comfortable out of the box.

At this price, I'd buy them again, no question.
