This is s great phone for the $. I use it as a daily. Does all I need it to do at a fraction of the cost of the Samsung variant with a pen.

nice solid all around phone, but I'll only call $300 an ok price, if $200 will make it a slick deal.

Compared to 2024, this one adds IP68 water/dust protection, Gorilla glass, faster 68W wired charging and it comes with newer Android 15 + 2 version upgrades

Yeah, for anyone who cares about their phone actually being secure you'd either go with one of the Samsung A36 / A26 phones which get 4/6 years of security and OS updates.

Motorola's security update support period is extremely short relative to Samsung, google, and Apple who are all in the neighborhood of 5-7 years (from launch). Going with the newer model is a good idea if you plan to keep it a while.
Personally, I don't trust Motorola for long term security issues anyway, so ymmv.

What I've been doing is buying a $200 phone and keeping it for two years, then buy another in two years and so on. In 6 years I spent $600 on 3 phones. Or you can buy a one $600 phone from the likes of Samsung or Apple and keep it for 6 years. Personally, I don't care for Samsung or Apple software, and I would go crazy having the same phone for 6 years. I had a Redmi Note 8pro, a Moto one ace 5g, and a Redmi Note 10 pro that were each $200. The Redmi phones are very good quality but Moto G One ace 5g was a bit of a disappointment. It's just that if you do decide to spend $200 on a phone, you need to be sure it's the right one.

These secure phones though lack a lot of features I find useful to have, eg no micro SD card, no headphone jack, no FM radio and they also cost.
