For those of you talking smack about this little guy that it's not brushless bla bla bla. I bought one of these in a kit over 10 years ago. It has done everything I needed it to do around the house. Hell, I used it to drill a hole in the concrete for a safe twice and it worked just fine. Finally it's getting tired and I saw mine spit out some plastic parts so this will come in handy for another 10+ years hopefully

I've had one of these for a few years from a starter kit. It's fine. Driven a decent amount of tapcons with it.

In for 1, thanks. For occasional light-duty use, for me would be perfect.

I have the brush version of the driver. It is like holding a sparkler while you work. I would not recommend even at this price point.

I used to have one till i went too hard with it and the bushings blew up. Great for light work (used it for years), but do not hold the trigger for more than 20 seconds... General rule for Ryobi tools is don't slog on it. I've let the factory installed smoke out from a few of their items.

I end up buying the brushless drill and impact wrench set for $99 at my local Home Depot. This includes two batteries.

What's the best price seen for the brushless version as a standalone tool?

LOL, its fine for the weekend warrior. My one has been relegated to mixing paint, but i still use it once in a while as it is quieter for driving screws than the impact if you don't need the torque.

I can only find one listing for $99 and it is not brushless so you may want to double check if it is actually brushless:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../330410128

However, I wouldn't get the above set either if you don't care about brushless as there is another set with more (another battery and a tool bag) for the same price:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../317987595

I was able to find another set that is brushless (with the 2 battries and toolbag) for $30 more at $129 though:
