This Great Value canned pumpkin is a versatile pantry staple for pies, muffins, smoothies, soups, sauces, and even pet meals. The ingredient label appears to be just pumpkin with no preservatives, and the puree freezes well in portions or cubes for later use. It has been used successfully for multiple pies and as a winter substitute for fresh pumpkin. The main drawback is price, since nearby store comparisons and older prices make this feel less compelling, especially once extra baking ingredients are added.
The ingredient label reportedly lists only pumpkin, which suggests fewer additives for cooking and baking.
Freezing portioned puree after opening can help the pumpkin last for years.
The pumpkin can be used for multiple recipes beyond pie, including soup, sauces, and no-bake desserts like pumpkin lasagna.
The puree can work well in smoothies when frozen into cubes, with taste control using one versus two cubes.
The price can feel high compared with past purchases, with some shoppers questioning whether about a dollar per can is worthwhile.
The pumpkin may not taste good straight from the can, so it is better used in recipes rather than eaten plain.
Using it in pumpkin ice cream can fail if pumpkin pie spice is missing or sugar substitutes create an overpowered vegetable taste.
Some recipes using canned pumpkin can turn out highly processed and ingredient-heavy, which may not match a "pure" preference.

You can feed it to your dog, lots of good uses for pumpkin. And some people just enjoy baking at the holidays, pies, muffins, you name it!
