You can feed it to your dog, lots of good uses for pumpkin. And some people just enjoy baking at the holidays, pies, muffins, you name it!

Are times so bad that $1.18 is a good price for a can of pumpkin? I recall buying a bunch for 68 cents a can not that long ago.

Edit: Wow. That was 5 years ago. I hate this timeline.

Sorry I wrote that in all caps and Slickdeals decapitalized it. I was just referencing the odd "PUMPKIN PIE?" in the title.
That's ok, just drawing attention to the time of year with the item posted.

Pumkin is what I give my dog every day with her dinner, she likes it, and its very healthy for her. I would rather not have preservatives, and will actually roast pumpkins/squash when I have it to be heathier, but this is a good alternative in the winter.

I got greedy and it was on sale, bought 8 lbs can of pumpkin puree form Smart & Final. Never opened it since I realized it was too much and had to use in short time period. It's been in back of my cabinet. Can it be apocalypse food like on the walking dead tv show and last for long time or should I just dump it?

For what it's worth, this appears to not have any preservatives. The ingredient label just says: pumpkin.

For the last month, I have been using this pumpkin puree in my smoothies. I freeze them into cubes. With 1 cube, I can't taste the pumpkin; with 2, I can.

Not sure if you're serious. Unopened can will last till the date printed on it and likely longer, if undamaged. The quality won't improve though. Canned pumpkin doesn't taste good plain and for that reason I don't think it's a good apocalypse food. I mean not only it's apocalypse but you have to eat plain pumpkin. Yuck. This is not a reason to toss it though. You can use what you need and freeze the rest in portions. Pumpkin is also not just for the pie and muffins, you could add it to soup, some sauces, etc. Lots of uses for it, just not eating out of the can.

I've made pumpkin ice cream with ninja creami. I didn't have pumpkin pie spice and the sugar substitutes were overpowered by strong vegetable taste. Couldn't get through half pint. There's pumpkin pie spice flavored coffee, protein powders I might try adding that

Open it, divide it and freeze it. It'll last years.

I feed it to my cats, they love it, and it gives them fiber. Just make 100% sure it has no sugar or spices in it.

Cute. But that desert doesn't have sugar. 2 entire packages of jello pudding mix. 60 whole ass ginger cookies. And a half cup of powdered sugar. That desert doesn't have sugar, it's pure junk mixed with sugar mixed with more highly processed junk. Your sarcasm is noted but misplaced, the ingredients are genuinely eyebrow raising in fact.
