Active Ingredlent here: Stannous fluoride 0.454% (0.15% w/v fluoride ion)

Typical anticavity toothpaste active ingredient: Sodium fluoride 0.25% (0.15% w/v fluoride ion)

Alternative anticavity toothpaste active ingredient: Sodium monofluorophosphate 0.76% (0.15% w/v fluoride ion)

Typical Anti hypersensitivity toothpaste active ingredient: Potassium nitrate 5%

There are differences between stannous flouride and sodium flouride, stannous is antimicrobial and attacks the bacteria that causes gum disease, hence the name of this toothpaste.

if the active ingredient is the same between 2 toothpastes, just remember the only difference in what brand you buy is the flavor.

Other Crest Pro Health toothpastes have the same deal like Gum Detoxify for 3.99 - a lot better than the normal 8+ most places. I know someone who uses this, so it's an easy buy as a simple surprise.

They've added zinc citrate. It's one of the alternatives to triclosan after it was banned. Colgate uses it too for added long term antibacterial kill.
The other is amino acid, which the other Crest uses.
For many, depends on the funny tongue aftertaste which antibacterial...

That said, ALL the American consumer toothpastes are weak !#$ compared to EU/JP toothpastes with a higher concentration of fluoride. (Higher statistically results in greater reduction of chance of cavities.)

And key is to brush within 30 minutes of eating or drinking anything with sugar. Don't let the acid build up.

There is nothing on the market that can reverse gum recession (outside of surgery / grafts) but the antimicrobial in this will help with fighting the root cause of the recession.

Yup. This is called "marketing hype" and it used a lot in regards to gum recession (and many other things). Try googling "gum recession" products and you'll find a million things promising they will restore your gums, but the truth is that it's all snake oil and outright lies - the only way to "regrow" your gums is by grafting from other parts of your mouth.

ChatGPT can do a good job of helping to educate/research claims like this.
