We tested it during load, and the fan can get noisy.
But, what worried us the most is that fans break, and with so many connections a fan inside a dock is just a bad idea.
Go for CalDigit. They have real support, and actually answer their phones.
Your SOL if anything from Anker breaks outside of warranty. Their only recourse is to replace, or tell you to kick rocks. This is not a brand that I would trust for a dock.
