There is a disturbing trend with wireless temperature probes, that after a couple of years, they drop support in the app for older models....and now the unit is e-waste

Yummy, iGrill Weber, Cuisinart, Kamado Joe....I'm looking at you.

So this ThermoPro is ideal. No Bluetooth, no WiFi, no phone app.

1000 foot range to the read-out base station. Your boyfriend or guests can keep on eye on the temps without needing access to your phone.

-
Long range of 1000 ft.: this wireless meat thermometer allows you to track your food and grill temperatures from a range of up to 1000 ft, away to help take care of other tasks or enjoy the big game stress free

Easy to use: the 2-unit system BBQ thermometer comes already paired, simply insert the batteries, plug in the probe and you're ready to elevate your cooking, backlight to assist with the those late night or early morning dim light conditions

Count up and down timer: this grill thermometer is equipped with a built-in timer mode where you could set it to count up or down, our kitchen thermometer does it all, no need to waste money on purchasing an additional kitchen timer to keep track of your side dishes

USDA cooking temperatures settings: this cooking thermometer comes with USDA's recommended temperatures for all meat types, just select the type of meat you're cooking and the desired level of doneness and let the TP20BW kitchen thermometer notify you when the meat gets there

Precise and high heat resistant: probe thermometer features an accuracy tolerance of 1.8°F (1°C) and measurement range of 32°F to 572°F (0°C to 300°C) makes this a reliable sidekick in the kitchen no matter what the type of food or preparation method

I picked up a similar unit years ago before I got into the expensive Thermoworks stuff and I can say that I still like it. The OP's description holds water, it's nice to have one that doesn't rely on wifi or a separate device. I guess what I'm tryna say here is that if you can score a unit like this for relatively cheap, it's a decent deal. Having a brain-dead-simple unit handy really is nice.

I'm on my third set of ThermaPro leads. They just don't last.

You get a 3 year warranty, and you don't have to send the old ones back.

Often, you can put probes from other brands into each other's units. Look if the male end of the probe has two connections, or three (TRS) and try it out.

Of course, don't wash the probes in water, just wipe them off with a damp paper towel.

$53 for me, too (Seattle). I do see the 500ft (vs 1000ft for OP) for $30, but was likin' that $21 😬
