I used this watch for 7 years without an issue. Battery was still good. I eventually gave up waiting for it to die to justify an upgrade so I ended up giving it to my brother. I now use a 965 and the biggest difference I think is the accuracy on the sleep tracking and color/touchscreen. The tracking is a bit better but not by a whole lot. I mainly used both watches for gps tracking while biking. Anyways, it's a good price and it'll last you a long time.

I have been using a Vivoactive 3 as a backup to an Edge 1030 for several years now, battery is starting to go. As Nathan N suggested, it is a lot of watch for the price, but obsolete hardware (primarily HRM and display), other important functions like sleep tracking, etc.

FR 165 refurbs are dropping below $200, which also has more capabilities than I will ever use, but with current technology. Assuming a useful life of about 5 years, I feel like the 165 is a better investment.

Thoughts?

the 935 is a plastic case version of the Fenix5

it is not just way out of date, there are no more firmware or even bug fixes for years now

the 265 is the minimum I'd buy as a serious runner

look for factory refurbs which are as good as new

I hate how difficult these things are to use. I just want a GPS/pace screen on a stopwatch that's operated by physical buttons.
