any chance this will be cheaper on black Friday or closer to holidays. I feel like sales are lagging. or possibly a lot cheaper 15 inch m3.
M4 I believe is a decent step up from M3 relatively speaking. Supports more monitors too.

Of course, get a 40Gbps external enclosure and a fast ssd, you get more (possibly even faster) storage for less than $200.
But a laptop is supposed to be portable. If you are just going to use it as a desktop and/or for data you don't always need on it then that works although in that case a NAS may be better.

Can we connect a USB-C external to get more storage? Isn't that option practical? 200 dollars for merely 256GB more is just the Applish way.
The actual space you'll start with is 215gb. Apparently office will need 10gb of space but apparently it'll end up being 10s of gigs once you're using it. That's 195gb. Probably even less than that.

195 -50gb (you need 10-20% free space for optimal ssd performance). 145gb. Unless you don't need any other big apps, you might be fine but in all my years office ends up taking a stupid amount of space. And apps add up.

External drives won't help you with space for app install.

obviously, it has more storage? Big Grin I also think 512 should be the base model, unless you only browse youtube/netflix/email. 256 is too less to store thing, even the stock apps/settings already ate a bunch of storage.
I have a 12 TB RAID array in my house that is mapped to the router for access anywhere. I might store a few files on the machine, but most goes to the drive maps on the array.

I'm deciding between 13" and 15", and I want a bigger screen, but I'm not sure paying an extra $200 is worth it if I'm also losing portability. Any thoughts on this?
