Price match with bestbuy and use your amex offer 25 back on 250.
If you have multiple cards with same offer, buy bestbuy giftcards and use them for payment.
If used right - you can bring down it to 750 - 3 * 25 = 675$

New to Apple laptops. Have had a phone for a LONG time. Do you need AppleCare? I won't be dropping my laptop...I've never gotten AppleCare for my phone. Thoughts?
Yes. After 12 months any mechanical failure is going to cost you a big chunk of what you paid. I've owned 5 MacBooks since 2008, about to get my 6th. I've owned AppleCare for all of them and 3 of them had issues with screen or battery or headphone jack etc that had nothing to do with me. Each time it cost 100-600$ of dollars even after deducting the cost of AppleCare+ but I didn't pay anything since I ponied up for AC+

I've heard and seen MacBooks last forever (my backup self upgraded 2012 pro still works and never had any hardware issues) but we live in a world where statistics aren't always on our side. Don't take the risk. For a MacBook Pro of this sort I think it's 5$ a month if you don't want to pay up 200$ up front.

Here's a simple formula for insurance. Can you afford the cost of bad luck? Do you have a backup in case you're unlucky or clumsy?

Can't find a 1TB MacBook Air anywhere. Neither BB, Costco or Amazon have that qualify for this deal. Anyone have any experience with Apple price matching and adding another $200 to upgrade the laptop?
Apple need to see an active listing online (show Amazon listing on phone for example) from the major retailers but they'll knock off 15% tops.I've done this twice in the last 12 years but the last time was in 2020? Things may have changed but I doubt they offer bigger discounts since they don't compete with those in the first place

Best to wait if you want 512gb for 900$ or less.

256gb won't be enough as apps only get bigger and maybe OSes too.

If you're cloud based and don't need a lot of apps and don't mind waiting for a better deal, go for it

Is this the best price range for Black Friday prices? Or could they potentially get cheaper to $699.99 for the general public (excluding military discount for tomorrow's sale) in 3 weeks? Have the previous M3 MacBook Air go low as $699.99 for last year's BF?

I did a PM on a watch last year and the max they'd do on that was 10%. Haven't tried on a computer but, if 10% is still the limit on those too, the price is essentially the same as the edu discount.

Just called and yeah it was max 10% off the retail price. I just went with the 512GB. Not worth the extra $$$ I guess.

Some individuals downvote a post or listing if they don't meet the criteria for the deal.
Well other times people will be like that deal is terrible it's $100 lower for AAFES. I get that it's cheaper there but 1% or less of slickdealers have access to that pricing. No need to bash this post which is also a good deal but applies to the masses. Downvoting if you don't meet the criteria and downvoting a post because there is a different deal that requires a very limited criteria are both annoying.

I understand that the number of people who qualify to shop there is relatively small, but the chances of a member knowing someone, such as a family member, friend, neighbor, or coworker, who can help you get something are much higher.

same price at Costco
Also 2% extra for executive members. Costco will have Apple sales from 11/17 (advertised in their holiday book). Wonder if it's the same $750. Should I wait?

Have had 4 Apple machines. Never gotten Apple care. No issues at all
You are self insuring which is an option for some but that fact your systems had no issues is not the point.
One buys it for peace of mind so that if an issue comes up it won't be a large immediate expense and/or 'scary' trying to figure out who to ask for help. You simply get help from Apple.

It is insurance so of course it usually isn't needed. The only way Apple could even offer it was if it wasn't usually needed.
You paying 'x' now to avoid paying 'x+y+ more time wasted looking for help' later.

That said my approach would be to buy using a credit card that doubles the 1 year included warranty & I'm fine with dealing with the credit card company trying to claim their version of a 'warranty'.

For most I'd say just buy Apple care and walk into Apple stores (if you live near one) with any issues.

Don't. Have 6 laptops for 10 years+. Just put in protective case and you're good. I like to upgrade a lot
You do realize AC+ is more than damage insurance, right? Extended hardware warranty, battery warranty and other benefits. It is unlikely one will need it (like most insurance) but it should be said that it's more than just coverage for dropping your MacBook (which there is a deductible that needs to be paid to fix your dropped MacBook, it's not free).
