Yup. 270 calories for 20g of protein isn't great. Probably tastes decent tho

For 450mg of sodium and 15g of added sugar just go and eat a donut instead

That's a perfectly fine protein to calories ratio. It's the sodium and added sugar that are problems. That ratio would be 200 g of protein in 2700 calories. That's a perfectly fine number, since 1.6g per kg of bodyweight is the number that seems to be the best spot for most folks who are trying to build muscle. For people who are 270+ lbs, the ratio might be weak, but that person should almost certainly be more focused on the sugar content.

I mean compared to regular cookie dough, sure. In reality, it's not. You can get do much better ratios. Isopure would be 60g of protein for the same calories. Hell my milk has better macros than this.

These are pretty decent in a pinch.

If you need to avoid sugar, you probably don't need a protein bar in the first place.

It's hard to find bars without a bunch of chemicals.

They get HARD pretty fast.

I bough a box last month and I can usually do whites, shakes., etc... for a snack so I don't eat bars often and these things are like rocks now. I could barely get a knife through on me today.

I've been eating these bars for about 5 years and they are really good. I prefer the mint or peanut butter, but the cookie dough is good too. Good bar for protein or pre-workout energy.

This price is a steal. Limit 3.

They are nothing like Clif bars. Look at the second picture. They are normal size bars about the size of a Snickers. Chocolate coated on the outside. The interior is sort of like a protein granola bar but not exactly. They are good. And yes you can take these hiking but that is not their only purpose. I use them as a snack, pre-workout bar, and I do take them hiking as well.
