So T-Mobile no longer unlocks for travel purposes or any other reasons - they have cracked down on that - Apple doesn't have temporary unlock so when you asked for a temporary one for travel you would unlock the phone forever. Android has an app that allows for 30 day unlock - but Apple doesn't and thus the crackdown on unlocking any Apple device. I do not see any monthly credits attached so if you pay the full price, instead of financing your device, the device just needs to be on T-Mobile for 40 days before it automatically unlocks (I have had mine unlock faster). If you're taking the 24 months financing route then it will only unlock once it is fully paid for - but again, if there is no usual "price difference credit such as you pay $45 and get $45 credit each month) then just buy it outright. The only fine print I see is that a data plan must be activated - which again, if you don't get any credits per month, just activate it and cancel in a month. I have a plan with $5 watch and iPad lines so I'm just waiting for a deal on the M5 or the hopefully renewed M6.

Looks like no price increase for nano. What tier is this for insurance? Tier 5? So many selections on the list
Why not just use the AppleCare One insurance? 3 devices for 19.99 per month and any devices after that at $5.99. I have my iPhones, MacBook Pro, and IPad on AppleCare one and it sure beats paying the $400 two year extra AppleCare plus on a MacBook Pro at POS - it covers theft as well on almost all devices with exceptions to the MacBook Pro I believe. AirPods Pro 3 and Apple Watch Ultra are like $29 per year and $4.99 per month respectively - so I pay those as they are.

The protection offered by T-Mobile is awful at their price. You're better off using a card like Chase Sapphire Reserve or Amex Platinum to pay for the iPad and you won't have a monthly insurance payment and still will have a smaller deductible than paying though T-Mobile Assurant plan (there are many cards with much smaller or no annual fees that offer that - Citi AA, U.S. Bank Cash Plus, Penfed Pathfinder, Bilt (and many many more).

Apologies if my information on the cards that offer
Insurance are outdated - so many companies nurf their programs these days that it's hard keep track of.

Edit: AppleCare One deductible for a stolen iPad is $129. It's a no brainer as long as you're not the type to lose more than three devices per year - as each theft claim on your account counts against your accounts Theft claims per year.

Picked up the 2TB 11" with Nano Texture glass, amazing deal for the same price as a base M5 with 256gb.

Btw, thanks OP for the post. Repped. Really great deal all things considered. I wouldn't have even wondered into the M4 page since I have a base WiFi one.

I think this is coming from Apple and they're just clearing house on the M4s like they recently did with the MacBook Pro M3s. There is little they can improve on in sense of processing power etc. to warrant an annual upgrade - so how do you show strong sales of the latest and greatest? Remove all previous competing models.

Crazy how the 1TB was also $1099 before it sold out? Am I glad I didn't get tempted by that and didn't see it posted. You really came through clutch on this deal. Thanks again.

The resale value from buyback sites are so sad now for all Apple products but especially higher storage. I just checked one site for this model…..$817 for nano texture

Tell me about it. It's disgusting. You used to be able to purchase an Apple product and after four years get at least 50% or more.

Like I bit the bullet and sold a MacBook Pro M1 Max with 4TB of storage 64GB Ram and a MSRP of $5399 plus tax and applecare plus for the amazing price of ... $2000. Thankfully i didn't pay anywhere in the vicinity of original MSRP. But the computer had 111 charge cycles, 96% battery, and not a scratch on it. It took three months. This is the first time i have had such a difficult time selling an Apple product. From what i hear, the watches are even worse of a scam on the secondary market; which is why i now either gift them when i'm upgrading or if we are doing a company wide competitorupgrade, i donate them to a school or after school program in dire straits (looks really suspicious when potential donors see kids working on MacBook Pros and the board is raising funds) - but it's a donation, so at least they can be assured their money will not go towards overpriced computers lol

Saw this few days back on T-Mobile's website. It's a good deal. Returned m5 13 256gb WiFi at Best Buy and got this one instead.
How much was the m5 13 256?

Is this cellular or WiFi only? Also the RAM should be 16GB instead of 8 GB.

The insurance site says "sg" and "tg". No idea. Thought it meant space gray but tg I think means nano TexGure?
Guessing "sg" is "standard glass" and "tg" is "textured glass."

According to T-Mobile's documentation, iPads are all unlocked.
