This is the truth. It's a crapshoot, but having returned this particular bag because it was too low quality for me to send to school with my elementary school aged child, you are going to be happier rolling the dice on the AliExpress.

Bought something like this for my son from TEMU.. around $13. Material is not strong but ok for occasional use or for packing clothes for short trip.
Soooo many things look exactly the same as those on Temu and Aliexpress... sold on Amazon for usually 3-4x the price

I use this as a flight bag. Decent quality and compartments. Big downside for me is there is no water bottle slot on the side... unlike most every other backpack made.

It seems that all these cheap bags' zippers are made of cheap pot metal. The little zipper handles break after a few pulls on them- even with a paracord loop on them. Can anybody suggest a budget friendly bag that has decent zippers on it?
