This is a 4 line T Mobile Essentials promo that pairs four iPhone 17s with about $100 a month for 24 months, best for families willing to port in and keep all lines active. The strongest upside is the phone value, with no trade in required and Costco or Sam's Club sometimes adding activation fee waivers and gift cards. Taxes, fees, and device taxes still apply, and some orders hit down payments or higher first bills. Port in rules are strict, with prepaid, MVNO, recent T Mobile, and non qualifying numbers often rejected, so the fine print matters.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes. The promo requires all 4 lines to be ported in; new lines alone do not qualify. Several comments also say T-Mobile treats prepaid T-Mobile/Mint/Metro-style numbers differently, so eligibility depends on the source carrier and port-in rules.

  • The advertised $100/month is before taxes, fees, and surcharges. Reported totals range from about $120 to $135/month depending on location, with examples including roughly $5 per line in taxes/fees and a $3.99 per-line recovery fee plus 911 and USF charges.

  • Not reliably. Keep & Switch and Family Freedom are separate pay-off programs, and the no-trade iPhone promo is often treated as a different offer; commenters were told the two may not stack, especially for existing-customer or winback situations.

  • No. The device credits are spread over 24 months, and paying off the phone or canceling a line early can stop the remaining credits. If you drop the 4th line, the remaining device balance still has to be paid and the promo can be re-evaluated.

  • It includes hotspot only in a very limited form: commenters describe unlimited 3G hotspot, with optional high-speed hotspot add-ons. The plan is also repeatedly described as deprioritized, so speeds can be slow when the network is busy.

It is some BS, all these companies do great deals for new customers but their existing customers get not even half the deal, I mean really?
agreed the best thing to do is to get these new phone deals. Stay the two years and then switch to mint, visible, etc. And when the phones dies or you need a new one just go to a new carrier with a new deal...rinse and repeat.

I see the deal is still active; is there any way to get the free activation as there was on cyber Monday? And can we still get an offers combined with Costco? Thanks for any help. Just getting around to researching this one.

General advice I see on the T-Mobile subreddit from employees is that T-Mobile can't tell the difference between a postpaid or prepaid number. Visible is usually the prepaid carrier I see the most data points on the T-Mobile subreddit that works for port-in promotions, with one example from 5 months ago here.
Code:
 https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/comments/1laia3a/any_one_have_success_with_a_verizon_prepaid_port/
Ymmv, because I don't know if T-Mobile finally got their system in order to prevent this. You can try asking the T-Mobile subreddit for more info.

T-Mobile has 2 different incentives that will pay off your phones for you.
Keep & Switch [t-mobile.com] and Family Freedom [t-mobile.com].

https://www.t-mobile.com/support/...ly-freedom (Family Freedom)
https://www.t-mobile.com/support/...and-switch (Keep & Switch)

Keep & Switch allows you to keep your current phones, and Family Freedom requires you to trade in your old phones once T-Mobile pays them off for you. You would need to ask a T-Mobile employee whether either pay off incentive program can stack with the current no trade in required promo when you switch to T-Mobile.

Upfront: $35 activation fee per line. (Costco & Sams Club members can get this waived and even get some bonus prepaid/gift cards)
Sales tax on the MSRP of the phones.

Monthly: $100 w/AutoPay enabled + taxes & fees & surcharges [t-mobile.com].
Regulatory programs / Telco recovery fee: $3.99/line
State and Local Required 911 Surcharges
State and Local Taxes
Federal Universal Service Fund (USF)
Must have all 4 lines stay for 24 months to get all bill credits
Autopay requires debit or bank account
Can I get this deal via Costco?

If you have nothing keeping you on (like bill credits), port out to Tello, then port back in. I've done this a couple times with good results.
The deal is invalid porting from Tello. You have to be with another listed major carrier for 60-90 days prior to using this deal. Read the qualification details.

Is the the tax included in the 100 for 4 lines?
If not.. what is the actual out of pocket per month?

Would you recommend switching back & forth as I am currently paying $160 including tax for 6 phone lines. No bill credits & no EIP

Free action if you get this deal at Sam's Club or Costco. 75$ per line Costco gift card as well. Sam's deal also includes Sam's gift cards for about the same amount.
