Bulls just dropped a stellar deal on their Bosch Copperhead Evo HD 750 Bosch Bike. Was $4499 Now $1999. This uses the new Bosch Smarts System and had front suspension. This might just be the best Black Friday deal on an eBike I've seen yet!

The Bulls Copperhead Evo HD 750 is a Bosch Class 1 hardtail e mountain bike built for climbing, range, and all around trail use. The Bosch CX Smart motor is rated at 85 newton meters, and the 750 watt hour battery is described as huge for long rides. The setup also gets praise for a good motor, an air fork, and a better derailleur, with Bosch service support available through a broad dealer network. The main caveat is fit and use case, since the mountain bike geometry and wide bars can feel aggressive on long rides, and Class 1 assistance tops out at 20 miles per hour.

  • The current tire setup is more suited to hardtail mountain biking than road riding.

  • The mountain-bike geometry can cause numb hands and shoulder pain on long rides.

  • The Class 1 restriction limits top speed to 20 mph.

  • Trail riding may require swapping the front tire for tread to reduce washout and crash risk.

Class 1 isn't fast, and it doesn't have a big battery, but it will help you climb hills easier, and keep you riding longer.
"Doesn't have a big battery"? This bike has a 750 watt-hour battery, which is huge. It's as large as ebike batteries get, and since it's from a reputable manufacturer (Bosch), that capacity is real.

Plus, since this bike is Class 1, you can't just lean completely on the throttle, and even perfunctory pedaling adds up to a lot of additional range. This ebike will have the highest range you can get from an ebike, especially if you swap the tires out for slick road tires.

On the other hand, if you plan on riding this bike on any trail harder than a gravel road, I strongly recommend replacing the front tire with something that has actual tread. You can save that tire and use it to replace the rear when it wears out.

(It's much more important to have tread on the front than the rear. If you spin the rear, you might have to put a foot down. If you wash out the front, you're very likely to crash.)

Could it be setup to be a road bike? Looking for something to do some casual riding around stay stay a little more active.
Its really setup for mtn biking. I have gone through 3 mtn bikes and thinking I am doing something wrong, and even purchased a high end Cannondale, and STILL had major numb hand and shoulder pain, as the seat is as high as the headset. For long rides you want something with comfort..

its setup to be ridden anywhere.
mtn biking you are pulling or going down hill, so its OK to have the handlebars low or equal to the seat. But not on longer rides.

Have you seen an endurance setup? Gravel setup? Road setup? Drop bars are further forward and much lower than the seat, making for an aggressive stance. Even the endangered "hybrid" bike is pretty aggressive. The only bikes not like that are beach cruisers.

The bigger issue with a MTB is the bar width. Wide arm placement puts stress on different areas. Comfort comes when your hands are shoulder width apart.

It's not the cost of the bike, it's the fitment.

Im DONE with MTN setups when I do 90% of rides on paved or offroad, but no mountains! And the frame geo is so hard on my back shoulders and numbs out my hands....I tried a city style or commuter, and thought it was amazing and can ride for longer times. Why did I not get one sooner....So now I am looking for one.
Specs I would like....
750w continuos/1500peak motor,
at leas 12Ah or 15AH battery,
normal hybrid tires, mtb tires are fine, but no wider than 2.2", 26 to 27.5" diameter.
Bike to weigh under 58lbs,
Support about 300# gear and rider,
Solid torque/30-35degree slope,
Front lockout shocks,
good for 6'3" height,
Aluminum frame preferred, 7 or so speed.

Let me know when you see one please!

I see a lot of questions regarding motor and battery. Let me help clarify. The ebike motor is a Bosch CX Smart system with 85 NM's. This far outperforms the Specialized in question. The battery is a 750 WH and your bum will most likely wear out before the battery does on a ride. Also, warranty support can be done by anyone who services Bosch eBike systems which now has a larger dealer/service network than Specialized. Hope this info helps.

funny but Bulls Makes some nice Bikes, i have the 17 Bulls Copperhead 3 RSI (no motor) with full Shimano XT and a Fox shock, every bit as good as Trek, Specialized, etc. but i guess because no one has heard of them in the states their bikes just don't sell very well here.

pretty darn good for deals like this and the one i got though.
