The Organic Pompeian Robust Extra Virgin Olive Oil 16oz is the same price ($3.68 but without the 5% S&S savings and delivery is between Nov 29-Dec 18). But, you can get the larger 24oz and 32oz sizes earlier (they are the same price/oz, and do qualify for the 5% S&S savings):

You're just bad luck. I bought 4 in September and all of them expired in 2027.

Or maybe they just knowingly sell nearly expired stuff...u can look thru several posts on amazon products with complaints about nearly expiring products... its not bad luck, they know what they're doing....and obviously not everything they sell is not near expiration but its better to check just in case..

Most will prefer organic, if they are the same quality olives from the same region. Normally, organic will be 30-70% more than regular.
In general, it is more important that you are getting quality olives from a certified region, rather than generic extra virgin olive oil that can be mixed from many different regions (which is a common practice with olive oil from the Mediterranean region). Freshness is also critical, as you want EVOO pressed within the current harvest year, so there is an advantage in paying extra for local EVOO from the U.S., e.g.

Being organic is more an issue of whether the olives are grown without pesticides or synthetic fertilizer, and there are sustainabilty farming issues as well.

If you just want EVOO for cooking, then it may not be as critical in terms of taste.

Was the return process difficult? What did you have to do to receive the refund. I see on the item that it is listed as "Non-returnable due to food safety reasons."

Lots of time it is location based on the supply. You might be closer to warehouse that has older stock. Me and friend had same issue for over 2 years. I'm on east coast they live middle of Washington. We both have subscriptions for same item I'm expiring within days they have years on ever order.

You're kidding yourself if you think this stuff isn't laced and cut with other fillers and substitutes other than 100% olive oil

While there is a legitimate concern over authenticity of extra virgin olive oil (especially during past years' shortages when many unscrupulous producers and distributors were mislabeling oils), there is more regulation and testing these days. You can also check the olive oil maker to see if they specifically provide information on where exactly the olives were produced and pressed. Some olive oil bottlers are providing this inofrmation on their bottles now.

Below is a list by the North American Olive Oil Association of recent olive oils they've tested for authenticity.

I bought a case of Wellness cat for, and the expiration was BEFORE my order date! Absolutely check everything Amazon send you, and demand refunds. Only way to check this nonsense.

Wow! Thanks!

I just checked a bag of cat food I got from Amazon that my cat absolutely refuses to eat, and I saw the date on it was 5-15-2024!!! I looked it up to see if it was a production date, but it seems to be a "Best By" date. Even if it was a production date, it's certainly more than 18 months since production.

EDIT: After spending about 15 min with Chat, they did process the return, even though it was outside the return window. I had not checked right away and probably would not have checked without having read MAK1981's post about expired food! Thanks, MAK1981 !!!
