Bad times. Since when an R7/16/1TB/5070 is a good deal at $1400? I guess it's the tariffs. The 18" format is not worth it, I'd rather buy a desktop.

IMO, this is a better price point for half the storage:

Another opinion - Buyer beware, ASUS used to be reputable but their customer service and warranty experience tanked in the last couple of yrs. I used to be an ASUS fan and still have a ROG laptop from 2012 that can handle some modern games. Do your research before buying, hoping ASUS changed their ways.

The whole point of this product is its size. The one you've linked is 15.1" whereas this is 18". The two are not comparable.

If size is a priority yes. If hardware is a priority and screen size doesn't matter then no. Simply a humble opinion.

Reasonable price compared to the deal from Costco a few month back: MSI Crosshair HX18 for $1499.

Was about to say this. So few people understand the point of an 18 inch laptop

I just don't think an 18" laptop falls into the "portable" category. Too big and heavy.

I think that's true for some people, but for others not. I'm not a huge guy, 6'2", but I carried around a 20" laptop in college ( Dell M2010 ), never found it heavy, and to this day it was the best laptop I've ever used. The portable productivity and ergonomic utility it provided was absolutely unmatched. To me, an 18" is nothing and if I could snap my fingers, I'd carry around a 27"+ laptop. Currently waiting for my 18" Lenovo to arrive Thursday, more excited than I've been in a long time with its glossy UHD+ screen at that size
