The brushed side is so soft and comfy and the Sherpa side is so warm that it really doesn't matter. I'm not a huge fan of synthetic fibers but they work with this particular product.These blankets are durable as hell too. They have withstood my dogs 'kneading' them and more typical daily use for 8-10 years.

In for 2. Last year bought one for me and one more my Mom. Regretted not buying a second as it's the dog's absolute favorite blanket. She will leave any spot in the house to jump on this blanket with me.

I bought one of those "Eddie Bauer Signature Solid Grey Ultra Soft Plush 60X50 Throw Blanket" and never again. I feel that it is too small and since it is polyester you just end up sweating.

Now I know, not my cup of tea.
