FYI. They're mixed in with item 2081890, they look identical but make sure you grab the clearance one.

FYI, the model on clearance is S10U, which uses Teflon like fluorine containing coating. I bought this one, returned after more research, and got the G10u model which has a ceramic coating.

If you primarily make rice, the instant pot won't have as nice a taste or be as convenient so this rice maker is better and more compact. The instant pot is totally fine though if you don'tmake rice at least once a week. It is 90% of way there and slightly faster since pressure cooker. The non nonstick stainless steel on instant pot is plus minus since it sticks to rice but doesn't give you cancer.
I agree on stainless steel. I swapped out my second Best Buy instapot for a stainless steel instead of bpa cancer

Says low stock at a local Costco. How accurate is it usually?

This is the Teflon pot version. If you don't care about that, then it's a really good rice cooker. I used it for a few years.

I think they are trying to offload these models since they got ceramic one now.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Just went to three different stores and none of them have in stock even though the app says low in stock. If you don't mind to put in few steps go and check it out.

Thank you for the reply. The Costco that has low stock being 25 minutes gives me hesitation, so good to know.

I paid about $80 for mine and use it 5 times a week. No issues. I would buy another at this price for backup.

am i wrong in thinking that the instapot with its stainless steel pot is the superior option to this?
IP is okay if you only make rice occasionally. The rice out of one of these cookers is just better, more fluffy and cooked thoroughly. Often I'm using the IP to cook something that will go on the rice so I've got an IP and a "fancy" rice cooker.

Don't use instant pot to cook rice. I tried it before and have stopped using it.

I think I paid $80 for this on sale last spring at Costco. No regrets, it's terrific. I rinse the rice before cooking, then fill the water to about my knuckle above the rice line and it always turns out great. Gave our Cuckoo to my college kid and got this for home.

Rice can/will stick in stainless, sometimes pretty bad.. especially in an instant pot with less precise temperature control. The one time I tried was kind of a nightmare after it browned and stuck. That's never happened in my Zojirushi no matter how long I leave it on 'warm'. Semi-sharp corner & steep side walls in most instant pots make them kind of difficult to clean stuck rice out of, too.
Depending on the type of rice you are cooking, try to pressure cook for 3 minutes then natural release. It's the way I cook my short grain rice in my stainless steel instant pot mini. Also when pressure cooking you need to use less water than a rice cooker would use.

I got this as a gift from my brother in 2019 when I moved. Until last year, the pot still works great except it has way too many scratches just from using their provided spoon. I couldn't find the official replacement pot and the off brand made in China was about $35 so I replaced it for the small Cuckoo with turbo cook option instead for about $55. I love both but really love the Cuckoo because I can get fresh cooked rice in 20 mins.
For $40, it's a great deal!!!

Is the top lid still not removable like older models because it's very hard to clean?
