At 55mph I would want to be sitting. If you start wobbling that's the end of it.

It should not be geared to go 55. That's wildly too fast with such small wheels. Take power away, gear it lower, have just as much fun.

At least you cant text while driving a scooter. Wouldn't be very dangerous if it weren't for all the horrible drivers
All the college students on Lime scooters near me would disagree with that premise.

The Chinese must be…
A: Trying to win by taking us out one at a time.
B: Trying to overwhelm our National Health Care system with Emergency Visits
C: Trying to prove the old adage true, that "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should".
Honestly this design of scooter at those types of speeds, just seems totally irresponsible in any real world situation.
Keep snickering as they take over the world that Americans seem much to afraid and timid to face. No daring, productive or advancing country or people is primarily worried about safety. The tech used to build this can and will be used for other things as we sit on our laurels and mock and giggle like kids that the Chinese are the stupid ones.

That is why we have no power, infrastructure or manufacturing ability while they are making most of the worlds goods. Americans are not just afraid of going fast they fear factories and energy production in a quest for ultimate safety.

The people that build and service what you use have to face risk and riding something fast may be risk but it also brings fun, joy and reward. Christ I'm sixty three and would love to try one of these. Do note your car may do 150mph but it does not mean that you have to go that fast. If you do and you hurt yourself that is on you. What is next no skis or footballs made as it is all just to unsafe?

You worry about people breaking their necks yet we produce ones that are uneducated, uncreative, barely employable office fodder, emotionally unbalanced, obese, timid and sickly like they are all coming out of some bad large factory. That is what we spend billions on and we get no return. I'd much rather have child that would dare ride this then the ones I see that can not get the spirit up tp get out from in front of the Big Mac, TV, computer or phone.

We are nation of timid busybody karens and it is why the chinese are going to come to dominate the world. It is not just our manufacturing ability that is broke but souls and minds are. There are many people that have never experienced the joy of doing something daring and they want you to not as well. People on here talk like government safety commercials it is so ingrained in them.

It is so sad I witnessed a small child fall off a sled with no harm done and her grandad was rushing her to the doctors just as she was sniveling little.

I think Philosophically you and I aren't nearly as far apart as you think. As a child of the late 70's early 80's I did all manner of Dumb Sh*t. We used to have rock fights with other neighborhood kids with only Metal trash can lids to use as shields, we used to Build the highest, dumbest BMX jump ramps we could out of whatever hill, dirt or material we could find, I once jumped off my roof thinking my bed sheet would work as a parachute, any tree I could get too, I was climbing as high as I could. Skateboard stuff was just as dumb, the biggest hill we could find we were going down. And of course all these things were done helmet less. By all rights of natural selection I should've never made it to my Teens, but I survived.

You're right though, Life just wouldn't be too much fun wrapped in Bubble Wrap and guardrails, But for people like me if this thing goes 55, there's a 98% chance I'm going to try and go 55MPH on it. And as someone with 50+ years of experience of doing dumb sh*t, I can safely say this type of little wheel stand up scooter probably shouldn't go 55mph.

As far as the Chinese stuff, lack of a U.S. Manufacturing base, and Participation trophies for everyone. I'm pretty sure we're in lock step on those fronts.

I'm with on on all that except the Darwinian selection. The Darwinism Awards in my opinion are 100% backward. With humans the daring and risk takers are what led our evolution and became creators, warriors, rulers and kings and who got the ladies. The timid wolf in the pack will be driven out. The people that were afraid of fire or the big animals are the ones that were supplanted by the more daring. I'd say of you want to think of the prime human condition think of the early NASA guys. Mostly poor farm boys, outdoor types, risk takers, hands on and very physical with great intellect due to that. Benjamin Franklin played with electricity and built things with his own hands.

The physicality of it all and the daring ties in directly with brain development, intellect and creativity. I think that is why we see physically, emotionally and mentally stunted and awkward kids. They will not be much use if shit hits the fan if we have to go head to head with China. Americans have got the idea that the pampered and safe life is the ideal while we can see by the metrics it destroys.

The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese. I don't fully disagree with the discussion points as living in a world too safe has made us soft. However, there is a lot to be learned from those reckless types who don't think about safety.

How do we know certain types of mushrooms are poisonous? At least a few people had to try them, get sick and potentially die to [unknowingly] protect future generations. Even with that knowledge available, someone will still occasionally "volunteer" to remind the herd.

I have a VERY Similar Scooter, Boyueda S5. This seems to be a variant of the Boyueda S3 with different controller and 30ah battery instead of 38ah battery.

These things are so fun. Everyone who rides has a ear to ear grin! These things make you feel 12 years old again. They do go fast. Too fast for comfort. Experience to go this fast on a scooter is probably best. I do not have the experience. I did order a seat from VoroMotors that is solid. No shock absorber pogo stick wobble back and forth. You can drop the handlebars to compensate for sitting instead of standing.

The 'death' wobble is real thing with C Frame Scooters. There is a 10mm nut that can be tightened on the stem clamping on the underside. Tight as tight as you can get it but make sure you can still use the clamp. I overtightened then I had to back off on the 10mm until I was able to close the clamp. I have only gone 43mph in a large empty parking lot and could have possible gone faster if I had a longer stretch of pavement. I doubt this model will go 55mph with the average rider. Maybe if you are under 100lbs? YMMV pending on your weight.

I used a coupon code for a SlickDeal AliExpress eBike that actually worked for the scooter and got for $966.xx after tax shipped. The scooter was not 100% functional after being banged around from West Coast all the way to the East Coast. I had to take the deck off and re-seat ALL of the connectors to stop the motor(s) form cutting out. My LEDs only worked for between one session when re-seating all of the connectors. They still do not work. I got from AliExpress so my customer support is limited but they have responded. I can live with out the LEDs, but I will try a couple more times to fix and if not I will replace the necessary parts after I have the time to get a multimeter in there to isolate the issue and find the failed part or locate the open part of the circuit.

If you are new to this it may be best to get something a little slower to learn control such as the Ausom L1 max. It is under $600 and you will get descent customer support if needed.

...and that's my 2 cents.

These things are so fun and addicting. Be safe and get protective gear.
