I have these and you can't put them in the dryer. I did and it shrunk and the Adidas logo peeled off

Not telling you what to do, but you shouldn't put 100% polyester in the dryer in the first place; they don't last if you do.

Are these better than the aeroready shorts? I like the look for aeroready shorts for working out and running, but the 2 I got last less than a year (with weekly use) before it ripped in the groin area...

adidas seems hit or miss with certain lines within their brand. i have the same issue with shirts. some shirts have lasted me many years and counting, and some fell apart after a few weeks...

Seriously? NEVER put any SYNTHETIC materials in the DRYER! You honestly didn't know that??? Don't wash them in hot water, either.

Unfortunately, yes. Wish it didn't, to reduce the overly baggy/sloppy look. I only wear these in the gym or on my bike, when I'd have my keys/wallet in a bag anyways so have no use for pockets, but I guess Adidas includes them for sales reasons, probably adds maybe 50 cents to the cost from whatever 3rd world factory it's made in.

Based on the price I'm thinking these are going to be closer to the "fell apart after a few weeks" variety.

FWIW my old man Starter perforated gym shorts (think "Russell Athletic"-style) that I paid maybe $15 for have been going strong for 15 years+ despite being used, abused, dried for too long in the dryer, etc.

Edit: but at this price I'm not going to be too picky, plus I actually like that it has zip-up pockets. There's nothing like the hard thud of an iPhone slipping out of your pocket and onto a hardwood floor in a quiet room.

LOL, I ALWAYS put my dri-fit SYNTHETIC materials in the DRYER! It has never caused any issues. If it is something with elastic, I hang dry it to not wreck the elastic but I do sublimation and have plenty of 100% poly shirts that get dried without any issue.

Huh, interesting. I used the drier with my running clothes when I first started running decades ago, and noticed that they would lose their sweat-wicking properties within six months to a year tops making them stiff and uncomfortable on my skin. When I switched to air drying with newer running clothes they lasted exponentially longer---in fact I have shirts and shorts that are +20 years old! (Regarding the elastic on shorts going bad, just buy a bunch of those plastic toggle cord-locks https://a.co/d/iAxFceq off Amazon, they pretty much take care of that.)
