Needs to be made clearer: AMS Lite not included and will cost as much as the whole printer if you try to buy it separately.
Fairly annoying they show a multicolor print on the bed, when what you're buying cannot print that.

I lean towards the Flashforge - larger build volume (220mm in each direction vs. 180mm), slightly faster. I can't really speak to the software experience on either one since I prefer to use Orca Slicer rather than the manufacturer-specific software (and of the two, I only posses a Flashforge).

I gather that the experience with the Flashforge isn't as polished, so you might have to look a few things up, but hopefully they've fixed the silly bug I had the first time where it turned off the build plate heater and then sat waiting for the build plate to heat up to complete calibration (which I ultimately resolved with some power cycling and random tapping on the screen).

I think the AD5M is a better comparison straight out of the box, in which case the AD5M is the winner as it's $40 cheaper and arguably a better printer, but it doesn't get you into the Bambu ecosystem, if that's super important. But, also, the AD5X is also the winner here, as again, CoreXY and built in color for only marginally more. (they have been going for around $250-260 these days).

I own both AD5M and AD5X and I'm pretty happy with them.

I've had the A1 mini for a year, never used glue. Yes, it's a bed slinger, but the textured PEI plate it comes with usually does fine holding on to the model. I've only rarely had a model come off mid-print, and cleaning the plate and bumping the bed temp a few degrees resolved it.

You must be either extremely lucky or use cutting-edge filament coz my p1s even got prints that came off the PEI plate during mid print a few times Big Grin

Is this good for a novice? I don't care if its slow, noise, etc...want to know about usability and price on the long term (Like printer you gotta look at the ink cost than the printer's cost).

Idk anything about 3d printing but bought many Arkham Horror LCG games and looking at Etsy but interested in trying to print for all my board games!

This is a great printer for a novice. Easy to set up and the included software is relatively easy to use. My only regret is not getting A1 instead of the A1 mini. The A1 has a bigger bed and larger LCD screen. Otherwise they are basically the same. If you dont mind the smaller bed, the A1 mini is a great choice for a beginner.

I picked up one of these a year ago, and it has been great and trouble-free.... until I decided to try out a 0.2 nozzle yesterday. I must have done something wrong because now I'm waiting on some heat-resistant gloves so I can remove the hot-end and clean off the plastic. It's not quite a blob of death, but it was on its way to becoming one.

Sometimes the smaller build plate is an issue, but it has taught me how to slice up larger models. All in all, it has been a great no-fuss little printer.
