Equivalent to Visible+ is Total 5G+, which you can get for $30/month on BYOD.

T-Mobile performs poorly on QCI7 (Mint and every other T-Mobile MVNO) when it's overcrowded, especially in places like Costco or a stadium. However, T-Mobile has the best raw download speeds when it's not congested. One reason for such performance is that almost all name-brand T-Mobile's own plans run on QCI6, as does Google Fi. So, every T-Mobile MVNO will have a bad time (except Google Fi) when congested.

Only a select few Verizon postpaid plans run on QCI7. All other MVNOs (Visible+, Visible+ Pro, Total 5G, 5G+, Spectrum) and Verizon Wireless run on QCI8. Then, at QCI9, all other deprioritized plans, like Visible Base, Total Base, and select US Mobile Warp, are found.

Just port your number to google voice so you keep your current number. Then sign up as a new customer and just forward from that new number to your number in gv and your good. Your able to skip around and get the best deals all the time. Just have to change your esim/sim and forward your new number each time.

Transfer your number somewhere cheap (like Helium Mobile, $5/mo). Cancel your Mint plan. Their system will delete your account almost immediately. For good measure, open a new account with a different email address. Transfer your number back in.

Port main number to Google Voice. Then it doesn't matter which plan/number you use any more

Just realized a few others already said the same thing so I'll just expand a little further according to my experience with GV for the last 7-8 years:
-call forwarding is seamless.
-text msg (sms) goes to gv app.
-WhatsApp, telegram accounts associated with this number stay the same, no issue.
-only issues is with 2FA from some banks/institutions (maybe 20%-not a huge number) but since you still have a normal mint number albeit changing, switching just a few of these 2FA's is quick 1hour work
My main number is GV, and I am porting it out. I need my two-factor authentication (2FA) codes to go to my main number, not my alternate number. Currently, my 2FA codes are split between GV and my actual carrier number.

When I was in college, I regularly swapped SIM cards due to promotions and used GV as my primary number. After getting a job, I faced issues using GV for one-time passcodes (OTPs), so I got a phone number through Mint. Since then, my OTPs have been spread across both services.

I've now decided to move away from GV because it doesn't support features like RCS, call forwarding, or other options native to a standard phone number. Some banks recognize my account when I call from my main phone, but I now constantly find myself switching between two numbers for verification or when making calls.

Moreover, Big G can lock your number under various terms. I don't want to deal with them if my phone number is at stake – and while that might never happen, I want to limit their control. I will eventually port my other carrier number into GV but I plan to use that only for non banking or other generic inquires.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think when moving your main number to Google Voice, you essentially just set the default texting/dialing apps to GV...aka forwarding isn't really involved?

I'm debating about going this route and taking advantage of the Pixel 10 Pro deal that Mint is offering. I just hate having to play these games to get a good deal, and having to deal with the inconveniences that come with GV. I previously used Google Voice for 7 years on a work phone, where my company paid for Verizon service with a business number. I ported my personal number to GV for "free" service that ran over the work phone's 5G. In other words - used the default texting/dialing apps for business purposes, and used the GV app for personal purposes.

My main complaint with Google Voice, and hesitancy towards doing this with Mint, is the 2FA issues. I had fairly regular issues with 2FA texts (banks and misc. online shopping, etc) that just would not come through to GV. Also experienced some annoyances with texting as GV does not support RCS.

Still debating on this route (port to GV, and buy "new customer" deals yearly) versus switching back and forth between Mint and US Mobile every year. Hmm...

Same. Read above.

visible unlimited plan is $19 a month. This is $180 + $30 fees and taxes, comes to $210 which is almost $18 a month. so just $1 difference, paying month on month with flexibility of switching to other carriers any time, visible seems like a great deal. am I missing something?
It's just T-mo, vs. Verizon coverage that is the difference, I think.

Visibles cheapest plan comes deprioritized to start with even without major congestion or having used all your data. I test ran both Mint and Visible for my child's line and Mint is significantly better for data speeds.

This seems to be great. I need to find a good option to the 12 month Visible+ unlimited plan that I am on now, and is ending in a month. Anyone know how this Mint Mobile plan compares with the Visible+ plan in terms of data priority, video quality, and hotspot speeds? I get good T-mo and Verizon signals.

Will this last for a while so that I can wait for anything from Visible for Black Friday?
US Mobile Premium Warp (Verizon) for $299/yr at the moment will be equal or better to what you have with Visible and includes more hotspot and free international data, you'll get to stream better than 480p as well. I'm using US Mobile with Dark Star (AT&T) and it's better than T-mobile and equal to AT&T in terms of quality of connection in Pittsburgh and its surroundings, and has better features as well.

One huge upgrade Mint just got is now all their customers can get 5GUC, the highest and fastest 5G band and speeds plus 5G stand alone no longer reserved for T-Mobile only makes such a big difference in day to day use for me

Would we not have to wait for 3-4 weeks, Or there is no waiting period? Curious.

If you are wanting to keep your phone number you can Port it to Google Voice then it doesn't matter what carrier you go with you can move around or stay with the same carrier but just let them give you a new number each time and your number will always be with Google Voice and will never change as long as you want that number regardless of what carrier you go with for whatever deal they're running that year.
I have noticed that several 2FA services will not accept a Google voice number.
