T-Mobile performs poorly on QCI7 (Mint and every other T-Mobile MVNO) when it's overcrowded, especially in places like Costco or a stadium. However, T-Mobile has the best raw download speeds when it's not congested. One reason for such performance is that almost all name-brand T-Mobile's own plans run on QCI6, as does Google Fi. So, every T-Mobile MVNO will have a bad time (except Google Fi) when congested.
Only a select few Verizon postpaid plans run on QCI7. All other MVNOs (Visible+, Visible+ Pro, Total 5G, 5G+, Spectrum) and Verizon Wireless run on QCI8. Then, at QCI9, all other deprioritized plans, like Visible Base, Total Base, and select US Mobile Warp, are found.

Just realized a few others already said the same thing so I'll just expand a little further according to my experience with GV for the last 7-8 years:
-call forwarding is seamless.
-text msg (sms) goes to gv app.
-WhatsApp, telegram accounts associated with this number stay the same, no issue.
-only issues is with 2FA from some banks/institutions (maybe 20%-not a huge number) but since you still have a normal mint number albeit changing, switching just a few of these 2FA's is quick 1hour work
When I was in college, I regularly swapped SIM cards due to promotions and used GV as my primary number. After getting a job, I faced issues using GV for one-time passcodes (OTPs), so I got a phone number through Mint. Since then, my OTPs have been spread across both services.
I've now decided to move away from GV because it doesn't support features like RCS, call forwarding, or other options native to a standard phone number. Some banks recognize my account when I call from my main phone, but I now constantly find myself switching between two numbers for verification or when making calls.
Moreover, Big G can lock your number under various terms. I don't want to deal with them if my phone number is at stake – and while that might never happen, I want to limit their control. I will eventually port my other carrier number into GV but I plan to use that only for non banking or other generic inquires.
I'm debating about going this route and taking advantage of the Pixel 10 Pro deal that Mint is offering. I just hate having to play these games to get a good deal, and having to deal with the inconveniences that come with GV. I previously used Google Voice for 7 years on a work phone, where my company paid for Verizon service with a business number. I ported my personal number to GV for "free" service that ran over the work phone's 5G. In other words - used the default texting/dialing apps for business purposes, and used the GV app for personal purposes.
My main complaint with Google Voice, and hesitancy towards doing this with Mint, is the 2FA issues. I had fairly regular issues with 2FA texts (banks and misc. online shopping, etc) that just would not come through to GV. Also experienced some annoyances with texting as GV does not support RCS.
Still debating on this route (port to GV, and buy "new customer" deals yearly) versus switching back and forth between Mint and US Mobile every year. Hmm...
Same. Read above.
Will this last for a while so that I can wait for anything from Visible for Black Friday?
