Hi, I am Mint customer. my goal is to keep my mint phone #. If I port out to other carrier then port back, and purchase that $180/year plan. is there a waiting period from Mint's perspective. like a few days, 1 month? when I port back, do I need to use a different email address to counted as new customer? Thank you

I've been using Mint for a few years and it's been fine. Good service at a very reasonable cost. Tello (another T-Mobile MVNO) is even cheaper, though.

Just switched from mint to spectrum. $30 per line unlimited including taxes and fees bundled with $40 high speed Internet all fees included. Verizon Network which is still considered the best and for good reason. This pricing is guaranteed for 2 years.
Good deal but you're locked into using Spectrum internet (which may not be so good).

Had mint last year. It was ok. Customer service sucks as you will get an overseas call center. Switched to spectrum and customer service is great with u.s. call centers and Verizon Network which works better for me.

Curious would a VPN bypass this limitation?

Hotspot?
Hotspot info that the other person gave you is wrong....

There are FOUR tier plans.

5 GB/mnth..............hotspot is limited to 5 GB/mnth
15 GB/mnth..............hotspot is limited to 15 GB/mnth
20 GB/mnth................. hotspot is limited to 20 GB/mnth
unlimited................. hotspot is limited to 20 GB/mnth

They recently doubled thier hotspot and slightly increased the prioritized data with the unlimited plan.

Never really tested... but the answer is "maybe" but "maybe not"... they kind of know when you stream based on how much data you are pulling in. There is no way to hide how much data you are pulling. I was told if the data stream matches 1080P video, then they know.

So for two lines it would be $360/year for 12 months, and then increase to $720/year afterwards (assuming the non-discounted price stays the same and/or you can't lock in a new deal)?
That is why you bounce after a year and find a 3 month contract or month to month and then jump back to Mint at $180/year.

I personally bounce between Visible and Mint. I think I like Visible better but my wife like Mint Better... go figure. Visible is better if you go on vacations in other countries and it works in mexico. WIth mint I always needed to buy a special pass, it was not that expensive.

The biggest difference is Visible plays videos in 4k but the hotspot is limited to 15MB/s but is unlimited. Strong enough to play 1080P but not fast enough to play 4k,,,, but the phone itself can, if you have a 4k screen. Mint limits video's to 480p but does not limit your hotspot speeds but caps your hotspot at 20GB/mnth.

I signed up my wife for a 3 month plan. As soon as I took it this deal went live about a week later. We just missed it. At that point they didn't have any deal for unlimited plan.

Today I called up Mint to ask whether they'll honor this deal since we just missed it. They refused. We moved from AT&T. Kicking myself for being in a rush to move out. If I had waited just for a short time, we would've had this deal. Now I have to sign up for $360. Sucks.
You should have known. If you did any research on SD.net you would have seen that Mint runs this sale practically monthly. You just need to wait it out.

Now you know for the next time.

P.S. If you want Tmobile there are other options or you can switch to Visible for 50% off for a year when her contract expires. Point is, if you want the cheap price, just continuously switch. That is my plan.

Been thinking of Mint for a while. AT&T is robbing me!
