Equivalent to Visible+ is Total 5G+, which you can get for $30/month on BYOD.

T-Mobile performs poorly on QCI7 (Mint and every other T-Mobile MVNO) when it's overcrowded, especially in places like Costco or a stadium. However, T-Mobile has the best raw download speeds when it's not congested. One reason for such performance is that almost all name-brand T-Mobile's own plans run on QCI6, as does Google Fi. So, every T-Mobile MVNO will have a bad time (except Google Fi) when congested.

Only a select few Verizon postpaid plans run on QCI7. All other MVNOs (Visible+, Visible+ Pro, Total 5G, 5G+, Spectrum) and Verizon Wireless run on QCI8. Then, at QCI9, all other deprioritized plans, like Visible Base, Total Base, and select US Mobile Warp, are found.

Just port your number to google voice so you keep your current number. Then sign up as a new customer and just forward from that new number to your number in gv and your good. Your able to skip around and get the best deals all the time. Just have to change your esim/sim and forward your new number each time.

Any good deals for someone who needs a new phone? Or should I go with another carrier?

What do you call a deal? And what phone do you want? Visible gives $500 off Pixel 10 Pro XL. There have been deals in the past... I got my kid a two year deal with Mint that included a S25... with taxes it cam just less then $800.00... they charge you for taxes on the full retail amount. I think I was able to choose a pixel as well, but it was the Pixel 9 and the S25 was already out... so I made my decision and got my kid a Samung... and I HATE SAMSUNG for android!!!

Also, Mint also offers $500 off a Pixel 10 XL Pro.

I have seen better deals in the past such as the S25 deal I got.

Hotspot?

It is not unlimited...

depends of which plan you take but from the lowest to the highest...
5GB
15GB
20GB
20GB
But the speed you get for data will be your hotspot speed.

Visible offers you unlimited hot spot but limits your speed to 5MB/s or 10MB/s or 15MB/s, depending on which plan. I prefer Visible cause I have been stopped from streaming to my tablet with videos.

You know there are ways to bypass this limit.

Looks like this is what I'll be doing rather than paying $100+ every month. Do you receive any promotions and/or incentives when you renew?
Never!!!

But if you call up to cancel after a "yearly" contract... they offered me 3 months for free and then they gave my wife the identical deal. And 3 months later I went to Visible.

I am very happy with Visible but my wife misses Mint. Where she works, she get better Tmobile signal then Verizon. Both our phone plans expire this April and I will probably switch to Mint for a year... then back to Visible for a year and then back to Mint... etc...

Do you remember when Tmobile use to be a good guy... that there prices were always the best... now they are a monster raising their prices... they have become Verizon.

I have had Mint for 5 years now, and couldn't be any happier!
So I will assume you have their flagship plan... and if you would have switched to another carrier and then switched back you would be well over $500 richer. And this is where I draw the line... you invest $500 today and it can easily become $5k during retirement if not more.

Yes, Mint is a GREAT DEAL... but if you switch, you can still save hundreds.

For those interested in the 3 month deal, I find that Boost Mobile's intro deal is better - $10/mo unlimited with 30GB Premium data, and no recovery fee. So you can stay for 3 months then switch, or switch before then when there is a better deal. Thoughts?

Anyone know if you can use a Mint sim in a cellular modem like this for use as a backup ISP?

https://a.co/d/2DqZN2g
Yes. I had it as a back up for one year, alas expired, depending on your 5G modem you may only get the 10 Gb per month as hotspot... FINE for a backup ISP, IMHO. Waiting for a deal for returning customers now .

Yeah, the taxes and fees hit hard on Mint. Switched to US mobile 2 years ago, never looked back, only sales tax there, all 3 networks, and better priority available on certain plans.
