Yes they still have a ton of pre installed apps. But yes you can uninstall most and disable the Samsung ones which they deem you can't uninstall.
Honestly if you haven't owned Samsung in a very long time you're only hurting yourself. Samsung has become the default best rounded flagship phone for Android. They have very little software bugs, very reliable hardware, very long software support, frequent security updates, and a robust ecosystem of supporting accessories.
This bundle pairs a Galaxy S25 with a year of Mint service, and the strongest draw is the low effective price for a flagship phone plus unlimited plan. The S25 is described as fast, smooth, light, and strong on battery and camera performance, with Samsung features and long software support adding appeal. Mint is tied to T Mobile and works well in some areas, including Chicago and rural Missouri, with hotspot data recently raised to 20GB. The main cautions are order processing errors, possible new customer and port in restrictions, and spotty Mint reception in crowded stores. A solid value if Mint coverage fits your area.
Mint subscribers in areas with strong coverage, because long-term use in Chicago, rural Missouri, and outside D.C. has been trouble-free.
Samsung app management can be difficult because ADB AppControl may list hundreds of apps on Samsung devices.
Common Questions (5)
Mint runs on the T-Mobile network, and some users report trouble-free service in places like Chicago and rural Missouri. Others report weak or dropping signal in crowded stores like Costco and Walmart, so local coverage can vary.
Yes. After the S25 unlocks, the Mint SIM can be moved to another phone, and the unlocked Samsung can be used with another carrier such as Google Fi. For the US S25, dual SIM means one physical SIM plus one eSIM.
A port-in is not clearly required on the deal page, but the promo appears to depend on being treated as a new customer. If your number is already in Mint's system, the free year can be voided and the phone may be back-charged.
Most preinstalled Samsung apps can be uninstalled or disabled, and tools like Canta, Shizuku, or ADB AppControl can remove more apps without root. The downside is that Samsung phones can still ship with a large number of preinstalled apps, so cleanup can take time.
Yes. The phone auto-unlocks after 60 days, so it can be used on another carrier after that period. The physical SIM or eSIM can then be moved to a different device if needed.
Yes they still have a ton of pre installed apps. But yes you can uninstall most and disable the Samsung ones which they deem you can't uninstall.

You can also use Canta and Shizuku to remove bloatware from the phone instead of disabling it without root.
You can use ADB AppControl + windows PC to make any changes over any installed apps on phone. Just install software and follow instructions step by step.
For example you can block 2 packages to prevent phone (not apps) update.
So I use ADB App Control with a PC.
And... it is not that easy. It lists system apps plus everything else. With Samsung, i have heard it lists hundreds of apps. My advice is talk to chatgpt and go over every single one and see if you should delete it or keep it.
But really... I would just get a different brand. My tablet... ZTE Redmagic Astra Gaming Tablet has 12 pre installed apps... this I can handle.

Don't even know where to begin.
Samsung wants to control your every move and spy on you. Hence why so many apps are installed and third party apps are also installed. Because of this.... Samsung has allowed this to happen... Landfall Spyware (Samsung‑specific exploitation). A sophisticated spyware campaign that exploited a zero‑day vulnerability in Samsung's image‑processing software on Galaxy devices.... ONLY SAMSUNG DEVICDES. And did I mention that even if you are up to date, you were still possibly effected.
Although numbers aren't known, cybersecurity analyses show that the malware was designed for and was capable of affecting these Samsung Galaxy models:
Galaxy S22 series
Galaxy S23 series
Galaxy S24 series
Galaxy Z Fold4
Galaxy Z Flip4
Gadgets 360
Security researchers have traced malicious Landfall spyware samples back to July 2024, meaning attackers were abusing the vulnerability in the wild from at least mid‑2024. AND Samsung's April 2025 update fixed this ZERO CLICK hack.
And you can uninstall most apps... SURE, and use ABD debugging... spend about ten hours going over every single app (hundreds) and you still do not get rid of the Samsung vulnerabilities. You have to understand that Samsung's model is to get paid millions of dollars and allow third parties to install their app so when you get their phone the app is already installed. And apps you can not delete you can disable but after every single updated, you have to go back and disable gain.
So saying what you are saying is the "exact opposite" of the truth... all of this is a lie, IMHO.... very little software bugs, very reliable hardware, very long software support, frequent security updates, and a robust ecosystem of supporting accessories.
Samsung has MAJOR software bugs, I think I proved it. Their hardware is good (never heard the word reliable to describe hardware.. the hardware in my chinese table is Amazingly strong and powerful).
Samsung does not release Android updates on the same time schedule as Google. Some updates can take over a year to reach your device and Samsung got caught with not giving all available updates that google has released. What does this mean? It means, if you want a secure phone you have only one choice and it is a pixel not a samsung device or get a apple phone.
Also, Samsung does not treat their devices equally... Flagship devices (like Galaxy S, Z‑Fold, Z‑Flip series) typically receive monthly security updates—roughly every 30 days. Mid‑range Galaxy phones often get security updates every quarter (every ~3 months). Budget models and older devices may be on a bi‑annual schedule (twice per year)... regardless of threat level.
Lastly, you are saying all the right things and I will paint a fast picture for your. You purchased a brand new S24 Ultra, you are so happy with your purchase. You tweak your device which took you over 20 hours but you have exactly what you want. And then you get infected because you have a Samsung device.. zero click infection, the worst kind. So, you buy their best, you expect security and you got the worst vulnerability in a phone in the last ten years. Why... because Samsung puts on way too much bloatware and gets paid millions from third party apps... you can not do this and expect a secure device.

Very good guess. Last and only Samsung I owned was the (legendary) Note 2. Rooted too. Then went to a rooted OnePlus 3 and finally settled into iOS. I'm a fan of the (relatively) polished and minimalistic system Apple offers, but, these days I've been more disappointed than impressed by them in both their hardware and software (UI) efforts. Really the only thing keeping me with Apple is the Brave Browser, which is superior to it's android version in that the iOS version can by default download YT and other videos to an offline playlist and background/screen off play YT videos without paying for premium YT (admittedly though even these features sometimes don't want to cooperate). I'm not currently aware of any Android browser which can match these capabilities, including the Android version of Brave.
OK...
To me the only reason why Android beats apple is because of "UBLOCK ORIGIN" which is considered the best popup and add blocker in the world. And I am sorry, but brave can't touch Ublock Origin for addblocking. It is an extension that you add to your browswer
A bit of the history... Ublock Origin was developed for Chrome on microsoft. And about two years ago there was a browser (no longer supported by developers) called Kiwi and this was the only Android browser that you can attach Ublock Origin to. Then I guess due to increased hardware performance... Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge Android browsers all allowed Ublock Origin to be installed. THEN Google has fought this because it is effecting their add revenue. SO.. the two android browsers that allow for Ublock Origin are Firefox and Microsoft Edge. I use Firefox.
A bit of more history... Ublock Origin was developed by a computer genius, Raymond Hill... the guy does not accept donations or any money for this extension. His work is widely cited in discussions about browser security, content filtering, and ethical ad-blocking... and is one of the world leaders regarding this issue. And Ublock Origin is considered the best add and popup blocker in the world.
So you are correct... if you do not install an extension, then Brave is probably the best. But if you install Ublock Origin (takes less then ten seconds).. you have a much better add/popup blocker then Brave. And you can also download Brave on Android, was first developed for PC, then it was developed for Android and finally it was developed for Apple.
So how do you install Ublock Origin? You download Firefox, you go to www.google.com and you search "download Ublock Extension for Firefox"... I bet it will be the first link and you install it. Literally take about ten seconds. You can also do this in Microsoft Edge in Android and you can force it in google but google fights it and I have noticed one day it got disable in google... that was the day I only use Firefox.
And everything I just said can be done on a Microsoft PC it is apple that does not allow for this... for tracking purposes most likely.

Am I missing something or is Mint just misleading? It says "get $650+ off S25... $450 plus another $200+ with eligible trade in". This isn't some additional promotional trade-in value, right? Every phone I plug in comes back with a trade-in value as you'd expect (like $80 for S21 Ultra). Haven't been able to find the answer anywhere, yet.
I'm assuming the "$200+" is really only for like last gen phones they're "generously" giving you like 1/3 the market value for trade.
Is this device leaps and bounds better than the Samsung s24 fe? I have the s23fe and it seems enough for me but was wondering if I might be potentially missing out not buying the ultra versions instead

I got offered $200 for my 256gb S23 but decided to keep it as a backup and instead traded a cracked screen iPhone 12 for $63.
