Oh no, I was trying the Google pixel deal posted yesterday. Same order issue this morning though. "Something went wrong while processing the order: ECOMM-0146"

Could I buy this phone/plan, then after 60 days once phone unlocks, switch the physical sim to a diff phone and used the unlocked Samsung with Google Fi?

Are Samsung phones still riddled with bloatware and 3rd party apps that you can't uninstall?

Yes they still have a ton of pre installed apps. But yes you can uninstall most and disable the Samsung ones which they deem you can't uninstall.

Honestly if you haven't owned Samsung in a very long time you're only hurting yourself. Samsung has become the default best rounded flagship phone for Android. They have very little software bugs, very reliable hardware, very long software support, frequent security updates, and a robust ecosystem of supporting accessories.

I agree with that. I was a pixel fan till Pixel 7 and poor tensor soc implementation.

A lot of galaxy oneui features, I really take use of that now pixel lacks prevents me from buying another pixel even at bottom of the barrel prices. I like oneui routines, secure folder, dual messenger, galaxy assist for text correction with ai.

Very good guess. Last and only Samsung I owned was the (legendary) Note 2. Rooted too. Then went to a rooted OnePlus 3 and finally settled into iOS. I'm a fan of the (relatively) polished and minimalistic system Apple offers, but, these days I've been more disappointed than impressed by them in both their hardware and software (UI) efforts. Really the only thing keeping me with Apple is the Brave Browser, which is superior to it's android version in that the iOS version can by default download YT and other videos to an offline playlist and background/screen off play YT videos without paying for premium YT (admittedly though even these features sometimes don't want to cooperate). I'm not currently aware of any Android browser which can match these capabilities, including the Android version of Brave.

Look up Firefox Android and possibly it's add-on. There is also new pipe and yt vanced.

I use FF on Android. Having access to the FF extension store is great, but it appears that Google has explicitly gone out of its way to block PIP on Android, so none of the extensions that explicitly support it or other YT workarounds seem to be working anymore.

NewPipe and YTVanced don't appear to be in F-Droid. I've tried Tubular, but it's not seamless.

Have you tried GrayJay? Super robust and amazing app!

I use in tandem with NewPipe. The two complement one another quite well. Picture-in-picture still works just fine for me and I'm on Android 15.

So after like a year of using these secondary plans off other provider's backbones + enshittification, I get no internet reception at slightly crowded places like a farking costco line and its gas station. It's kinda lame and makes you fee like a second class citizen. Like if I was ever in a plane that was expected to crash, I won't be able to say farewell to my loved ones lol.
