Yes they still have a ton of pre installed apps. But yes you can uninstall most and disable the Samsung ones which they deem you can't uninstall.
Honestly if you haven't owned Samsung in a very long time you're only hurting yourself. Samsung has become the default best rounded flagship phone for Android. They have very little software bugs, very reliable hardware, very long software support, frequent security updates, and a robust ecosystem of supporting accessories.
This bundle pairs a Galaxy S25 with a year of Mint service, and the strongest draw is the low effective price for a flagship phone plus unlimited plan. The S25 is described as fast, smooth, light, and strong on battery and camera performance, with Samsung features and long software support adding appeal. Mint is tied to T Mobile and works well in some areas, including Chicago and rural Missouri, with hotspot data recently raised to 20GB. The main cautions are order processing errors, possible new customer and port in restrictions, and spotty Mint reception in crowded stores. A solid value if Mint coverage fits your area.
Mint subscribers in areas with strong coverage, because long-term use in Chicago, rural Missouri, and outside D.C. has been trouble-free.
Samsung app management can be difficult because ADB AppControl may list hundreds of apps on Samsung devices.
Common Questions (5)
Mint runs on the T-Mobile network, and some users report trouble-free service in places like Chicago and rural Missouri. Others report weak or dropping signal in crowded stores like Costco and Walmart, so local coverage can vary.
Yes. After the S25 unlocks, the Mint SIM can be moved to another phone, and the unlocked Samsung can be used with another carrier such as Google Fi. For the US S25, dual SIM means one physical SIM plus one eSIM.
A port-in is not clearly required on the deal page, but the promo appears to depend on being treated as a new customer. If your number is already in Mint's system, the free year can be voided and the phone may be back-charged.
Most preinstalled Samsung apps can be uninstalled or disabled, and tools like Canta, Shizuku, or ADB AppControl can remove more apps without root. The downside is that Samsung phones can still ship with a large number of preinstalled apps, so cleanup can take time.
Yes. The phone auto-unlocks after 60 days, so it can be used on another carrier after that period. The physical SIM or eSIM can then be moved to a different device if needed.
I agree with that. I was a pixel fan till Pixel 7 and poor tensor soc implementation.
A lot of galaxy oneui features, I really take use of that now pixel lacks prevents me from buying another pixel even at bottom of the barrel prices. I like oneui routines, secure folder, dual messenger, galaxy assist for text correction with ai.
Pixel also has "Private Space" which creates a isolated space to install sensitive apps and data, requiring a separate lock to access.

If you have no brand loyalty, The pixel 10 pro is a better phone than the S25 and it's a cheaper deal.
Having used the S25 for 6 months and the Pixel 10 for the last 2 months, the S25 is a much better phone. It's a much smoother day to day experience. The Pixel 10 has lag that I wouldn't notice if I hadn't tried out the S25. The worst part is daily network drops (going offline from cell network). The irony is Google uses a Samsung network modem and Samsung uses Qualcomm.
If not planning to keep the phone, the Pixel 10 Pro is a much better deal for resale, especially with the S26 likely to get announced before you get your phone unlocked.

I've had multiple pixels and have never had any network drops whatsoever. Also, the Pixel 10 pro is much snappier than the Pixel 10, as it comes with 16GB of RAM vs 12GB.
Could I buy this phone/plan, then after 60 days once phone unlocks, switch the physical sim to a diff phone and used the unlocked Samsung with Google Fi?
Why would you do that? If you are an existing Google Fi customer, these phones are on sale for better prices.
Ultra is $700, Plus is $449 and S25 is $349. You needs 120 days of service on Google Fi to receive these promotional prices. Just buy directly from Google Fi.

Not yet a GoogleFi customer. Last month they had a 50% off promo for 15 months with free watch connectivity. U had to BYO phone though and couldn't but thru them. I'm just thinking if they bring back that promo in a couple months I'd like to take this phone to that service provider.
Than this deal is PERFECT for you. See, for $530, you get a phone AND a full year of phone service. So if you value the year plan at over $30, than this deal is for you!
can you transfer your existing phone number (another service) to this deal?
Yes, as a former T-Mobile user who transferred to Mint in January. I bought last year's $180/12-months. The process was quick and simple, Mint just requires a transfer pin.

Mint auto-unlocks the phone after 60 days, which supports later carrier flexibility.
Mint runs on the T-Mobile network, which can help coverage expectations for T-Mobile users.
The S25 can feel smoother day to day than a Pixel 10, based on a six-month comparison.
Samsung One UI features like Routines and Secure Folder can add practical usability beyond basic Android.
Online ordering can fail with PayPal or credit cards, and refunds can follow after long troubleshooting.
Mint reception can drop to zero inside crowded stores like Costco and Walmart, which can disrupt everyday connectivity.
Mint may not treat every purchase as a new-customer deal, and an existing number can void the free year.
Samsung app management can be difficult because ADB AppControl may list hundreds of apps on Samsung devices.

I use in tandem with NewPipe. The two complement one another quite well. Picture-in-picture still works just fine for me and I'm on Android 15.

Add like $50 to this amount due to taxes... or even more. You will pay tax on full retail for the phone... which to me is BULLSHIT.
I paid just under $800 with taxes when they had this deal for TWO years.
