I tried switching from wyze to tapo but tapos app ahd problems so i ended up switching back. Tapo app seems to go to sleep after 2 weeks or so and stops sending you notifications if i just open the app the notification resumes but i never know when it stops. Also the memory card on the tapo cameras needs to be formatted every few months. It just stops recording for no reason. If i format the card it works again but that is also annoying. I guess all this is fine if you're constantly checking your cameras but if you only check them when you need to they never seem to be working when i need them.

This is most definitely your phone setting to somehow stop background activity by the app. Never had this issue on my iPhone/Android for the past 3 yearsNotifications are fast and object detections are almost perfect

Tapo solar cam doesn't give you 24 hour recording. Might want to consider hardwired if you want to do 24 hr recording. Solar ones do record at motion trigger. Note that they were late at motion recordings and got somewhat better with firmware updates.

The sleep issue isn't tapo, probably your phone puts it to sleep after a while. Check your settings. Been using tapo for over a year no issues

Isn't Tapo and Kasa the same company? But they each have their own line of cameras? But they use the same app? So what's the difference?

I have 4 of these. Only complaint, there is not enough tilt on the fixed camera, if you don't mount it very low, you see a lot of the sky/roof. And adding a tilt to the mount throws of the axis of the moving camera.

Tapo has been great for me. I really like how you don't need a monthly service, just micro SD card (although it doesn't like generic crap cards.) My Kasa devices transferred just fine for me.

Only problem with Kasa/Tapo is that I can walk in front of them, and wave at the camera, and it's not going to alert me half the time. Other times a light reflection will set it off at 4am.
