For the original price of $499, this is one of the best if not the best sound for earbuds. For this price, there will not be any buds have better sound. The charging case is extremely useful during flights because you can connect it to in-flight entertainment system and use your buds to listen. You can also connect it to any legacy devices that don't have Bluetooth. I highly recommend buying at this price. I bought 2. Thank you OP!.

I guess I have only used various types of Air pods, and I could never discern a difference between them. I just don't know how different Ear buds and headphones can be, once you get to "good" they seem good enough basically.

I have a full 800 diamond series for my media room, so I appreciate the B&W quality/brand, but just can't imagine fidelity is much different with various in-ear options that basically any effort were put into.

I could be very wrong though

If it's like my recent Amazon Resale purchases they will be indistinguishable from new.

As you get older, ability would discern would diminish. The value of finer audio quality might be negligible for 50+ versus 20-40.

Can you tell a difference between the sound of a B&W 800 series and $100 speaker? If so, then the same with any ear buds or headphones. Proper seal/eartips is the key when it comes to IEMs.

Going from AirPods to 800 series is quite big jump. That is like having a Honda Civic and a Porsche GT3 RS. There is a big gap in between.
