If you're starting out, build one or more of these: https://www.jonny-builds.com/build1hourworkbench

I got a $300 HD 8' workbench when I started (like this but bigger) and I regret it. I built two of the ones from the link I sent. Having multiple cheaper workbenches that I can roll in any configuration... and ones that I don't feel bad about beating up a bunch (can always replace the top!) for a cheaper price... so much better.
At this point, only reason to keep the pre-built metal workbench is for indoors since it looks nice.

No... being only 48x20, and with a thin top, it's really just too small. And the wood surfaces on these thinner, cheaper ones will split easily. (Much faster if not in a 24hr climate controlled shop.) If new to woodworking, a project like this is a great start. Some 2x4's of Southern Yellow Pine (SYP) and you'll be able to both learn a good amount, and make an effective starter table. (And if nervous about making the legs, you can make a tabletop and put it on sawhorses.) There's a bunch of ways to go, and a bazillion youtube tutorials out there. Bit if starting with nothing, a simple plywood sheet (48"x96" but can be cut to your preferred dimensions, and allow you some leftover material to learn with.) You can just place it on top of some sawhorse's (or some simple 2x4 or 4x4 legs you make would be my best advice. Either way, get to a home center (Lowe's , Home Depot, Menard's, etc) and grab some plywood and 2x4's (or 2x3's). That will make a great start to learning without costing a fortune. And you'll get much more out of it than you would with this $110 job.)

This looks like a basic one of the ones Fedmax and Vevor were selling a couple of years ago (for cheaper). The Fedmax are solid.

Possibly would make a nice aquarium stand for the right sized aquarium.
