Maybe, but if I was staring at text all day I would personally go for an IPS and/or higher res. This monitor is awesome for games and shows, but text isn't its strong suit. Also note the 800r, it's more curved than a lot of other monitors you see and can be too much if you don't sit relatively close to it. I love it, but I move any text/reading to my second monitor.
