Not sure what you mean by $14 higher price? No free game I can agree with. High rate of CPU failure? No also a bios update should fix this issue.

I have been running a I7 14700 since a year now and been very happy with the cpu. Not only did I get it open boxed back in the day for like 280 at Micro Center but it has been a solid performer and still is. Also I did make the bios updates since then.

If you can find a good DDR5 LGA1700 (DDR5 works better with 14 series compared to 13 and 12) for a decent price its well worth considering.

I mean $14 higher because it was $150 in September (for a solid chunk of time), and included a $60-70 game, so there's -$74 in value now.
And I'm still seeing fresh reports of 14th gen failures, maybe it's fine, maybe not, but this thing needs to be truly bargain-bin before I'd consider buying.

Just fyi non K cpus don't have the degradation risks. So be glad for that. But there's been reports of people still getting cpu failures despite the updates.

I would personally view 13/14th gen K series cpus as written off. And just those generations in general unless it's the low powered T series cpus or something like that.

You basically have to have the latest update and set it to the standard power setting. Which drastically makes this cpu underperform, just to keep it safe and give it the best chance to survive.

I paid $165 for the 13600KF from Woot last week. So this is a better deal for the iGPU alone.

No i get where you are coming from. I had no idea it was that low + a free game. All I know that Walmart over the Summer had it for that price all day long for months.

Love mine. Three kids in the house, three gaming PCs. 7800X3D is cool too, I got one on a good sale at one point, but at these this level it's minimal differences in performance for most gamers with decent GPUs. In my life, one thing has been a constant. Intel platforms have always been more stable, on average, long term. I get more "dad fix this" issues out of AMD machines, they tend to be a little more temperamental after updates.

That is interesting on the non K cpus, I didn't know that. I think the cpu's can still fail after upgrade when they prior to the updated already started to deteriorate. But don't quote me on that, I have done very little research on the topic.

Most trusted sources say the impact on performance is negligible when the latest bios' are applied.
