"recovery fee" is just for them, not any kind of mandatory tax on the consumer. Weasels.

I went the other way from ultra mobile 4g plan to us mobile 2gb plan. 1st year might be great, but afterwards is 156 plus taxes and fees so close 178. With us mobile it's 96 flat each and every year. If that matters to you.

$15 recovery fee? Gtfo. $95 billed upfront for me, not $78. I know deal prices don't typically include taxes and stuff, but that's a significant fee imo.

Other plans also look good if paying for 12 months. Is ultra mobile a T-Mobile mvno?

Sort of. Ultra was the parent company of Mint, before T-Mobile bought both. So technically Ultra is now a flanker brand of T-Mobile (owned directly), rather than an MVNO. Functionally, it's still easiest to think of them as an MVNO.

Hmm, I'm on the light plan with USMobile which only has 2GB, which is just a little bit less than I use, for $96 a year. This comes out to be the same for 4GB - tempted...I have a t-mobile network only phone.

Couldn't tell from their website but may have just missed it - is data capped at 4GB, or does it just throttle after that?

I've learned that if plans dont mention unlimited data, then they are hard capped. This plan only mentions unlimited talk/text.

Does the data also include Canada and Mexico? Or is that just talk and text?

T-Mobile compatible phones will generally work on all networks, with a caveat with Verizon and their MVNOs. They will still work, but they won't be able to utilize all of the more advanced frequency bands.

My TMO PayGo $3/mo account was transferred to the Ultra branding, supposedly, but I still pay through TMO website. Odd arrangement.

Ah ok - good to know.

I've considered going w/ Infimobile on their $112/yr 15GB plan.. that one specifically says that it *doesn't* cut off, just throttles down (which is nice).
