I had to google the deal and it showed up on the Audible website. It didn't show up for me through the link to Amazon.

I said, why does the Terms & Conditions on the Holiday offer page say "Offer is available only to Audible.com consumers who are not existing Audible members"? How can you be an Audible.com consumer if you've never used the service before?
They added the promo to my account manually.

It is a strong YMMV but when I've kindly reached out to Audible support in the past they've manually activated offers to my account.

If you are ineligible for this offer, just chat with a customer service rep and say you were trying to sign up for it and it won't let you and they will override if they can or just give you a free 3 month trial (my case). Don't get the $20 credit but 3 free credits and don't have to pay the $0.99/mo. I have done this multiple times and they are more than eager to sign you up for a free trial if they can't apply the offer to your account.

Worth a try but no luck. Essentially it says "You aren't eligible for the offer, but you can still sign up for full price if you want to..."

Edit: For the heck of it, I tried contacting chat. As with others, they gladly signed me up for a 3 month trial. Then on my account page, there was a button to click to activate an offer for $15 if I redeem 3 credits by Feb 2. While I was waiting for chat, I researched how much money the author/narrator get for promo purchases. They basically get nothing. Maybe I'll pay for some months at full price to make up for all the free/cheap ones I've collected.

Worked for me by going to the Harry Potter Full Cast page and it had the promo listed. It did NOT show as available when I clicked on the link from Slickdeals.

So Audible has two parts: buying the audiobook (using real moolah or redeeming a credit) and their catalog where you can listen to as long as you have an active subscription.

I haven't looked into it but highly doubt the new HP books with the full cast are included in the monthly subscription, so you'll have to buy/redeem one of your credit for the book. With this promo, you'll get one credit a month, so basically 3 audiobooks worth.

Once your trial/subscription is over, you keep the books you bought (whether with cash or the monthly credit). Hope that helps! Feel free to ask any other questions you've got! Smilie
