Nowadays, good luck finding an airtag in a big apartment or school complex where Apple determines that it's a single address. All it says is the address, no more. Good luck finding based on the sound.

You can get the chipolo trackers for Google. But with Google you have to opt in for the tracking, so most people haven't unless they have a tracker, so it doesn't update nearly often enough

I got this pack last week and the first locator I paired is making no sound. Using "play sound" in Find My, it isn't making a sound unless I squeeze the locator in my fingers, then it plays music like it's supposed to. If I let go, it goes back to silence. It's locating either way, which means the battery connection is fine, but it's got a bad solder job on the Piezo speaker. I've got to get to Best Buy and do an exchange and hope I can get 4 good ones.
The funny thing is I got probably 10 of these from TEMU and all worked perfectly - only these Insignia branded ones have faults.

i did a search on chiplo, the first hit in google search outside of the product website reads

PSA: Don't buy Chipolo trackers if you value your valuables

I have used them in the past and been okay, but not great. If Google would default the tracking to on for android users, it could compete.

I have to agree on this one. The precision finishing has been abysmal in my experience.

Buying a tracking device from TEMU feels risky
