Figure I'd ask here...

I've got a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek which just passed the 100k mark (courtesy skiing and side gigs).

Looking to see if tires will be any better off this black friday or as christmas sales start not too soon after.

100% stock crosstrek, but entertaining ideas to keep oem rims and possibly go +1 or so tire size.

Been looking since spring for winter tires! Deals haven't been that good this year, a lot of tires went up the past couple months. Walmart some times has random deals that pop up that I've scored on but nothing this year. Waiting to see their deals tonight.

I just ordered new tires yesterday from this site. Arrived in 2 days. They are newly used tires. And by doing the math I found out they have roughly 7,000 miles used up of the 55,000 rated miles. The same new tires would have cost me $1150. But these gently used tires only cost me $345 + mounting fees. they do occasionally have brand new tires as well.

I figured even if I did this twice, I'd still be well ahead in mileage versus cost of new.

Even if the miles are low, you do not want any tires older than 6 years. Look at the manufacturer date. Change them even if the tires still have plenty of thread. The older the tires, the seam will show cracks on the sidewalls. The danger is a blowout when the car is traveling at high speed.

Not all sizes available in Goodyear Reliant which is Walmart exclusive. They are a little inferior in quality to regular Goodyear tires.

Subaru dealer sent me an email about a $75 mastercard when I buy 4 Yokohamas (I also have a 21 Crosstrek)

Over the years I have found it's hard to beat prices and service from Discount Tire. Check if there's a location near you.

Six years is fine. Maybe 15-20, you worry. If the tire looks fine, I think it's fine.

As for deals, call around. There are a ton of tire shops. Usually Costco is best for something new and nice, but sometimes a small local shop beats all. Other small local shops carry off brands that are acceptable, if you don't mind lower performance.
