This holiday season, enjoy 25% off for a limited time when you redeem miles for select gift cards. Treat everyone on your list with favorites like an Apple Gift Card, or explore other brands, including Uber and Nordstrom.

Apple GC seems to be OOS.

Darn, Wish I had a Venture X instead of Chase Sapphire Reserve. It's the better card to have now.

Just closed my card. In theory, the card is a zero fee card but booking through the portal PITA. Plus they reduced their lounge benefits to only the cardholder - at that point, better to have a no-fee 2% card and not deal with the portal and redemption crap.

It's not "zero" fee. It's net zero considering they give you $300 annual travel credit and 10K annual bonus which alone covers the cards annual fee.

Second this, the deal is really 6.25% off but hey that's better than the 0% off I typically redeem against travel purchases for. Plus, I have no travel purchases to redeem against at the moment so that made this gift card deal even more valuable.

You book an airline ticket and then cancel it. That would generate a travel purchase! I did this to cash out all my reward points before closing the card.

any tricks for using the 300 credit we get, if no trips..
just redeemed for 10 apple gc to finish up the points. planning to close the card soon.

I wonder if you can book an airline ticket and then cancel on the airline website for airline credit. I think you would have to do a bit more research on this.

I feel your pain - that is why I closed this card so that I didn't have to deal with this nonsense every year.

I really doubt it. You realize that they're extremely liberal about categories for 1:1 redemption? Includes restaurants: do you eat?

For redemptions, at least they don't list the restaurant category but other travel expenses are fine. I have used for Uber but I only do that in foreign countries where I cannot use an Uber gift card.
