Unlock policy:
Verizon Value will remotely unlock the phone when it becomes eligible for unlocking, provided it meets the following conditions:
- The cellphone must be in working condition and turned ON.
- The cellphone has not been reported stolen or lost and there are no indicators of fraud.
- The cellphone was activated with Verizon Value service by purchasing and redeeming an airtime plan on that specific phone ("Activation")
- For all cellphones Activated prior to November 23, 2021 on any carrier network and all cellphones Activated on the T-Mobile or AT&T networks on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked upon customer request after twelve (12) months of active paid service.
- For all cellphones Activated on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically 60 days after paid Activation and 60 days of paid active service.

How to Initiate the Unlock Process
Once you've confirmed your phone is eligible, you can start the process:
Find your IMEI number: Dial *#06# on your phone to retrieve the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number, which you will need for the request. It may also be found in the phone's settings under "About phone" or on the original box.
Submit an unlock request:
Online: Go to the official Tracfone unlocking website at TFWUnlockPolicy.com.
By phone: Call Tracfone's Unlocking Department at 1-888-442-5102.
Provide necessary information: You will need to provide your phone number, the IMEI/serial number, and account information to verify your eligibility.
Receive the unlock code or remote unlock: If eligible, Tracfone will typically send an unlock code via email or text message within two business days, or they may unlock the device remotely.
Complete the unlock:
If you received a code, power off your phone, insert a new SIM card from your desired carrier, power it back on, and enter the provided unlock code if prompted.
If the phone was unlocked remotely, inserting the new SIM should allow it to connect to the new network without issues.
It's not bad, for a brand new phone that unlocks in 60 days. great to give a kid or elderly parent and put them on a cheap plan away from Tracfone after if you choose.
If you don't choose a new plan/extend service when your one year is up, it will just disconnect, nothing you have to do. if you want to use your 'new' phone after it unlocks after 60 days on another carrier, just port the number elsewhere following Tracfones porting protocols. once ported to the new carrier, it will remove you as a subscriber.
Their customer service is pretty decent IMO.

Say you have an older relative stubbornly committed to keeping their spectrum plan but their old phone is dying and this would be an upgrade?
Idea is, harvest the phone to move it to spectrum and, after non-use/parking the plan for the required two months, throw that sim into a backup pixel phone (which is NOT her new QVC phone)
Is this remotely doable?

For clarification, that necessitates another stand alone purchase (a TF BYOP sim) and not doable within the entirety of this deal.
Trying to find a use for the 1 yr plan (she absolutely won't leave Spectrum nor will she buy a new phone from them but complains nonstop)
Please correct wherever I am wrong but even best case scenario, her Spectrum plan can't be tied to the new phone until 60 days after activation. Then she'd be new phone/old plan.
Sim is tied to phone so Trac plan couldn't be used away from the new phone and in the Pixel until AFTER the 60 days waiting period if ever.
The pivot being the "TF BYOD sim" which isn't relevant here and a secondary purchase?
My overall goal is to get her Spectrum plan on the new phone as soon as possible (seems 60 days from activation) and get the Trac phone plan to my backup Pixel ASAP but assuming burning off at least 60 days of the plan a la new phone waiting period?

I bought the 2025 version for its eSIM capability. It would have been gr9 if it had dual sim dual standby, but for $35 its a gr8 deal.
