Good deal, but know that the 14" is gonna throttle quite a bit with a Max. 16" is the ideal size for an M4 Max. Personally I wouldn't do more than an M4 Pro in a 14", just due to the lesser cooling versus the 16".

https://youtu.be/kZAU0wcC7kM?si=f...jd83x_eThe video's testing of the M4 Max chip in both the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros found very little difference in performance, even under heavy, sustained workloads like 10-minute Cinebench tests for both CPU and GPU.

Managed to snag an excellent condition. Looks like they're either sold out or they've adjusted the prices now.

First I've heard of this. Got documentation to back this up?

Was not... it had a huge dent when I looked at it at home

That's a bummer. I have TC+, so I guess if anything is wrong I'll just use AC+ and do express replacement. Still cheaper than new one for me.

For a Mac? they generally run at peak when plugged in. Your noticeable performance isn't degrading on minor temp changes.

If you are superstitious a 20 dollar cooling pad better than 300 more dollars for 16 inch. It will blow cool air through your machine and keep it off a Table where the fans are blocked

No they do throttle. The m5 pro also throttles, it drops to 4ghz under load
