Glad it worked! Deep carrier/reseller discounts is one of the best ways to get current or last year's flagship phones if you know your way around the cancellation and unlocking. After that my suggested way is to use Google FI to upgrade every year without paying a dime (and you don't have to deal with unlocking etc)
How do you upgrade for free every year with G Fi? Is it the existing customer discounts on new Galaxy and Pixel releases and selling your old phone for about the same cost? That requires existing service with them right?

I tried going to another Verizon corporate store today and was told to call 611 to payoff the device. I called after reading @OrangeHorn821's comment and a representative gave me a link to pay the phone off using a credit card.

Did this work? I went in to a Verizon store and there was a note on my account about a "buyout" date of about 30 days, so it would not let me pay off the account. Not sure if I was supposed to try and tell him something different.

I tried saying I need to pay it off to unlock it for international travel but still wouldn't let me pay it off, there was a note in the system.

Also, i do not have any option to payoff in the app or on the website.

Update: Even if your account has a note on it, just tell them you want to pay cash, as per the original post. But if the rep doesn't want to do it, just have to keep trying another representative

Yeah, it requires 120 days of service after you buy the phone but then in between you can pause the service. On flexible plan it's 25 or so per month so it's device cost plus $100 so for example galaxy s25 ultra 512GB was $650 during preorder process so if you can sell s24 ultra locally for $750 you can upgrade for free

The 36 month credits suck, you'll need a new phone before you can get all the credits. Letting the phone carriers scam everyone with they bring your own device pricing was such a joke. Same prices and no more new every two.

So, in total, the price of the phone is 900-500+tax = 400+tax? Is this the correct amount?
Or is there any other hack?

I spoke to two different representatives via 611, and both attempted to send a payment link via text and email, but to no avail. Asked me to call after 30 days, or they can force buyout in the next bill.

If ported out of vz after 3 days of activation, it would be 1 month of service + $40 activation charge + tax + device cost, right?
Or the service cost be prorated?
