you can buy bronze plan - $35 on the last day from walmart.com and select Direct Top Up option and provide phone number.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Straig...om=/search

Straight Talk has a "Reserve" system:

you can add a plan to your account before your current service ends. Straight Talk Extras+1
Plans you add to the Reserve are automatically applied on your Service End Date.

What Happens If You "Activate Now" Instead of Reserving

If you choose to not reserve but instead apply the new plan immediately, Straight Talk warns: you will lose any remaining days on your current plan.

Scenario ("$55 plan ends Dec 17, 2025; you want to add a $35 plan early for the second month")

If you add the $35 plan now and put it in Reserve, it will not start immediately. Instead, it will wait and begin on Dec 17, 2025, when your current $55 plan ends.
It won't overlap or "stack" service days unless you choose to activate the plan immediately (which is risky because you'll lose remaining days).

Good deal, wish it were the same lower price online though. I can't stand driving around trying to find something in stock anymore.

This whole "in-store only" shit needs to end. It's nearly 2026.

So, you're not willing to a little legwork to save roughly $335?

I'm currently using Tracfone. I would assume I would need to wait for this to unlock to use it on Tracfone? Can anyone confirm?

It's $199 with in store activation beginning today through 16th. You'll need the two months of at most $55 too. So $310 + taxes for an iPhone 16e with two months of service. I'm hoping I can drop it to the Bronze plan for month two. Move fast, guy ahead of me bought a shopping cart full of every Airpod Pro 2 they had for Black Friday. It's a shame Walmart isn't controlling that.
They don't care as long as they're selling the product

Or since I am on TW I can get it for $400 and activate on my service right away with the same unlock time. Not sure if I want to risk this for $90. Need to noodle on it.

" A little" work is usually not the case. Employee's at mine are slow, clueless about promotions, unable to help and outright lazy and do the bare minimum. There's tons of DP's about employee's setting you up incorrectly and I end up on the phone with CS for an hr either way.
Lots of stuff is locked up and getting an employee to help is like pulling teeth. In store at Walmart/Discount cell providers has always been not worth dealing with for me and more times than not hidden fee's and processes are not disclosed upfront...but YMMV obviously but the juice isn't worth the squeeze on alot of these instore deals

Not all Walmart can activate service. I went to two stores. Also there is bug in the system for them to activate the phone, the associate was reluctant to sell the iPhone to me for $199 and was recommending to buy it for 299

This is why I don't find in-store deals worth it. There's always "an issue"

I will never walk into a carrier store, post paid OR prepaid, ever again in my life. I absolutely f*cking despise that entire experience.

lol, apparently you don't have a phone to call them. Also online will indicate if in stock.

Is this possible to buy online for 299 and then get it activated for a cheaper plan for 60 days and it will unlock ? Do you see any issue except lesser saving... though it saves from hassle of running from one store to another looking for inventory?

This is precisely why I'm on the fence about even making the effort. The nearest Walmart is about 20 miles from me. If this backfires I'm gonna be p*ssed about wasting my time and gas.Great deal for folks who already close enough and shop there though

Since ST is part of the TF/Verizon family, you can use the 16e without waiting for the unlock. However, the phone will remain locked to the TF group which for some is fine. These companies include: ST, Simple Mobile, Total Wireless, WalMart Family Mobile.
