you can buy bronze plan - $35 on the last day from walmart.com and select Direct Top Up option and provide phone number.

Straight Talk has a "Reserve" system:

you can add a plan to your account before your current service ends. Straight Talk Extras+1
Plans you add to the Reserve are automatically applied on your Service End Date.

What Happens If You "Activate Now" Instead of Reserving

If you choose to not reserve but instead apply the new plan immediately, Straight Talk warns: you will lose any remaining days on your current plan.

Scenario ("$55 plan ends Dec 17, 2025; you want to add a $35 plan early for the second month")

If you add the $35 plan now and put it in Reserve, it will not start immediately. Instead, it will wait and begin on Dec 17, 2025, when your current $55 plan ends.
It won't overlap or "stack" service days unless you choose to activate the plan immediately (which is risky because you'll lose remaining days).

I haven't updated to iOS 26 yet, it shows TFW as the carrier name in top left corner. What is the carrier name shows those still on iOS 18.7.2, on ST website everything shows ST. Not worried just curious, cause i know i need to wait for 2 months to unlock it.

It activates when they ring it up if it's done correctly by scanning the barcodes properly.
Op is correct.

my local walmart has both 16e and 16 pro offers. 16 pro is costing 150$ more than 16e so now i'm deciding between iphone 16e vs 16 pro. is 16pro worth 150 more than 16e?
I am almost certain that you are referring to the 16pro offer, when you activate Verizon/ATT postpaid service and NOT straight talk prepaid service.

Can anyone explain the options for the second month service? I know the $10 option has been mentioned but it seems like that only gives 7 days of service. There is also the walmart $25 refill, and the $35 bronze plan direclty from straight talk. Which of these will work?

Forget the $10/30 day option. I used that last year and I'm the one who originally suggested it here. Apparently that is no longer available. Can't use the $25 refill since it's for BYOP. The only option is the Bronze plan which you can buy from Walmart as a direct top up or with an e pin or directly from ST..

You will be surprised how much teenagers cherish wide angle cameras on iPhone. My daughters had a choice- this or iPhone 14 on visible. They didn't care about 16e since it had no wide angle camera.
It's because they are taking the silly forehead pics with the wide angle.

ask the walmart rep at electronic counter to scan the ST label with the first barcode, than it will prompt for the second barcode. Also make sure you have $55 gold unlimited plan refill card scanned which will bring down the iPhone price to $199. The screen quickly display activated message. After 1 1/2 day(did get a chance before) i did the activation on ST website where it has a section for phones purchased at walmart.
So is this in the Walmart point of sale system or the warp system? All the stores around me state they don't do in store activations. But if the pos system takes off the $100 then that would be awesome.

checkout was done at the electronic section counter, cause the iPhones are locked in cabinets. i guess it was done using warp, not sure.

Thanks for the quick reply! The stores all around me do not do activation, even supercenters. One even told me the $100 is a credit to your ST account. Ugh.

So you bought the $55 card, and then phone dropped to 199, without there being an in-store activation guy/gal?

it's like $320 total still like half price of Apple.com
Thanks! A bit less slick that the previous iPhone SE and iPhone 13 ST deals, but still great for a 1 year old phone.

How do you purchase a second month of service so it's continuous but still lasts the 60 days?

Well that's not true. The $100 is a point of sale in store discount.

first time the walmart rep scanned at electronic counter price showed as $299, so i pointed to the display which said $199 with the $55 gold unlimited plan. He had to rescan again the iPhone along with $55 plan to drop to $199. On the box there is a ST sticker which has bardcode 1 and barcode 2. Then need to be scanned in order so the phone get activated. I paid and left the store, last night activated the iphone through ST Website from home.

And many more years of support too, don't forget about that.
