you can buy bronze plan - $35 on the last day from walmart.com and select Direct Top Up option and provide phone number.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Straig...om=/search

Straight Talk has a "Reserve" system:

you can add a plan to your account before your current service ends. Straight Talk Extras+1
Plans you add to the Reserve are automatically applied on your Service End Date.

What Happens If You "Activate Now" Instead of Reserving

If you choose to not reserve but instead apply the new plan immediately, Straight Talk warns: you will lose any remaining days on your current plan.

Scenario ("$55 plan ends Dec 17, 2025; you want to add a $35 plan early for the second month")

If you add the $35 plan now and put it in Reserve, it will not start immediately. Instead, it will wait and begin on Dec 17, 2025, when your current $55 plan ends.
It won't overlap or "stack" service days unless you choose to activate the plan immediately (which is risky because you'll lose remaining days).

Based on other member's advice here, your rep should have scanned multiple ST bar codes on the box. But probably can't expect the typical WM worker to know the process. That's why even though this is a good deal, I can see why many here are staying away.

Is there a way to find out what phone # was given at the store?...They didn't have to open the box. I entered IMEI # at straighttalk website and it has to send me a code to that phone number...of course I'd rather not open the box
The chances of unlocking your phone increase if you use call and text data at least once or twice during a 60-day period.

What do you think they did different to make it work? Store I went to scanned 2 barcodes on the box then the gold unlimited card and it showed the price as $299 for the phone. She said they were not a participating location. (It is noted only participating locations in the fine print on their website.)

Can you provide specific instructions on how to scan, what to scan, where to scan and in what order? That way we can instruct a WM employee for the discount-SlickDeal ... thanks in advance.

Ok, an update here. I was able to get hands of this phone because I made some phone calls to different Walmart last night in Los Angeles area. Be sure to ask if "premium" representative is present at the store. These guys handle the activation and some store do not have them. If they have them, they are there everyday and please refer to their show up hours. Premium representatives wear black polo shirt.

According to my receipt: Phone was $199.00 + $55 gold plan + $41.90 (10.5% sales tax in California) = 295.90. It is still cheaper but I was surprised how the tax was calculated from the phone's original non sales price of $399.00.

Now, I just need to find out if I can use the $35 plan or $10 plan? to continue 2nd month continuously for the 60 day unlock

There is not a $10 plan but you can downgrade to $35 plan.

Yeah, my receipt also shows tax on $399 instead of $199, that's pretty ridiculous that the state is getting tax off of double the amount that I paid for the phone

Not true at all.
Definitely true in my case because my rep entered her own email address in my acct - typical WM customer service! No way to activate and change acct info unless phone was opened out of the box to get their verification text to correct.

I bought the deal, went home and I noticed I have an email from straight talk that says verify your email address, but then when I click it verify, it says something to the effect of can't verify this email at this time. And then when I go to straight talk website to log in it says "The email address you provided is not associated with any account in our records." Is that normal? Then why did I get an email from ST soon after completing my in store purchase saying confirm my email address...? the rep seemed like he knew what he was doing and I walked out with $199 phone plus the $55 plan on my receipt, did he do something wrong or is this normal? I'm not sure what my next steps should be...

In my case they scanned barcode 1 on the box, then barcode 2 on the box, then the barcode on the gold card plan. It did not change the price to $199. Stayed at $299. Not sure what she could have done different.
