While no doubt every brand has its defective models. I'm suspecting a lot of these products were never actually defective. Just returned items. Possibly just new and never opened at all. I've heard in the past that companies would dump extra inventory new items as refurbished, factory blemished, open box and so on... this is a way for them to dump inventory and get around price agreements made with various retailers.
Not positive that's what's happening, but just a thought...

Approximately 41% of consumers have returned a non-defective electronic item in the past 12 months, with a significant portion of these returns classified as "No Fault Found" (NFF), meaning the products were functioning properly. This high return rate represents a major challenge for retailers in the consumer electronics sector.
