If you want a DVD drive for some reason by one (maybe not this one) while you can. As of 2024 the last notable manufacturer (LG) quit making DVD drives. Fear of EoL on Windows 10 is expected to ramp up demand for those remaining units.

What about blu ray and 4k drives? They're backwards compatible, and both discs are widely available for sale.

I thought I'd never need one till my mom said all her CDs are scratched up so I have to burn some....

I just tried the coupon code and it isn't valid anymore

coupon went obsolete as fast as CDs and DVDs themselves!

no need to buy this when you can buy old used Dell Inspiron Windows laptops and equivalents from 10-13 years ago for $10-$15 shipped on Mercari all day long. I have several and they all have a burnable DVD built in. plus you obviously get a whole Windows 10 laptop in addition to the dvd.
