Not exactly - you get a marginally nicer case (semi-rigid) that probably does better in protecting the phones. Costco's version is called the SE and comes with a soft case

It's listed SE but the item I received from Costco deal was actually marked SC on the box, if that matters.

I have had this for a few years and like it a lot. I like the simple tactile button to control on/off and Bluetooth switch/search, and quiet/aware. the noise cancelation could be a bit better but overall I highly recommend it.

ok I think the one I was thinking about when commenting was QC25 which was released in 2014, not 2012 as I thought. Starting from Bose 700 I lost track of their headphones lineup, and then they did one of the most confusing things possible(name it the same name)

For me it's great for air travel. Sounds good, noise canceling works awesome, and they don't clamp on your head so tight that they wear you out. The name 'quiet comfort' checks out.
