Interesting but they throttle you after 1TB per month and they don't mention actual download speeds.

Much cheaper than I pay for Verizon FIOS but concerned about the download speed.

to bad spectrum sucks... in pretty much every way. put random charges on your bill, service CONSTANTLY goes down but of course its never their fault, even when they charge you more for the "FIX" it does nothing but cost you more. i pretty much hate spectrum. i really hope they completely under.....

meh deal. spectrum is offering free one year of spectrum mobile and its cable or fiber, not just another hotspot device.

After 1TB they de-prioritize, so whether speeds are impacted depends on network congestion in your area.

I have to say, I've been using the router/TMO internet for almost a year, at MINT they use the same router, rep even read off the model # to me and I know how good my service is around here. So I'll cancel TMO if I'm happy with the speeds and go with this MINT one for a year. I got $400 last year from TMO ($300 Mastercard and $100 cb from a site), that ran $720 for the year ($60 per with auto pay) less the 400 so $320 plus $180 for my annual red pocket plan, $500 for the year. But this upcoming year it would cost me $720 alone for TMO's internet. So I'm happy and I get to use essentially the same internet which I've been happy with.

I don't have Spectrum around here, only Xfinity. And while they too have a similar deal, reviews on Reddit of people getting jerked around and incorrectly billed are abundant. I hate things that are charged and then given back with 'bill credits', the taxes are always more and I don't need the hassle of spending an hour on the phone with them. https://www.reddit.com/r/Comcast_...12_months/

There are advantages of the hotspot router, you can take it with you anywhere if you're traveling, and since all these 'offers' require you be a new customer, next year I'll shop around for another deal on phone/internet. It's all good, there's always next year!

Obviously 'typical' is based on a lot of variables.

However, I just ran a speed test at 620p ET using the same router I'll be getting from MINT (who also uses TMO's 5G internet)

Download speed 475 Upload 13.2

If I get about this or anything over 400 d'l with the MINT service on TMO, I'll be fine.

BTW, the Comcast/Spectrum speed is only 300 on the free phone plan.

The Internet offer does ($30 per month/prepay for the year $360) but the phone plan at 50% off is only for new customers.

I don't think they let you just move the router around (at least not with T-Mobile) and use it traveling. I asked the rep when I signed up and they told me it wouldn't work if it was outside the service address area.

they cannot mention download speeds (let alone upload) because it is cellular and wildly variable. it could range from 10kbps to 200+ Mbps depending on location, time of day etc.

Please don't believe them. We use tmobiel 5G at 10+ of our retail locations. They are all registered to our HQ address but no problem using them in all over the US. but depending on the locations, the connectivity can rock or suck.

Dang, well maybe I should give it a try. Would be pretty useful in some situations.

"I don't think"......

I'm telling you it works. Reps never know the true 'hacks'.
