Even lower regular price on temu for the same item ($3 shipping already included). Do a search for "obd2 scanner diagnostic tool" then sort by price.

A Car Code Reader saved the day for me earlier this year. The lesson is: don't factory reset your car when you have a smog check in weeks.

I was selling our old car and already confirmed the buyer. The last step before transaction is a simple smog check (in CA), simple, right? I factory reseted the car's settings to disconnect all the phones. Big mistake! It also reset all the smog test readings and failed me on the smog check with some sensors in INC (incomplete state). Luckily I had an OBD scanner, but it still took me 300 miles+ in 2 days to get the pass (still one sensor was in INC). Check the crazy driving cycle below, especially "cruise on 60mph and slow down to 30mph WITHOUT breaking" (try to find a road where you can do that):

- Driving cycle: start cold engine (sleep for 8 hours+), idle for 2.5min, drive 20-30mph for 4 min, drive 40-60mph for 15 min, stop in Drive for 4 min
- Need to repeat more than once (with 8-hours sleep in between), never over 3000rpm
- For EGR sensor: smooth accelerate from 30mph to 60mph, let it cruise and slow down to under 30mph (NO BRAKE, can downshift).
- "Fuel System Monitor" stuck in INC (Incomplete), which is fine. The computer will decide if it passes (depends on car model).

You're gonna need a bi-directional code reader.

Is this any different than using the elm based Bluetooth ones with an app like Car scanner?
I have both. The wired one is better in my opinion. Bluetooth one is harder to connect.

The issue with the bluetooth dongles is that they won't connect sometimes or take forever to connect.
God help you if you have to wait a few seconds for it to connect....so gen z 2025

After using the wireless OBD2 sensors on my vehicles for years, I can't imagine using something like this in its place. I'm sure it is handy for some, especially if you don't want to have to worry about an app. However, I just paid the $5 or $10 for the premium Torque android app maybe 10+ years ago and haven't regretted it. I will have to whip it out on occasion to actually get the codes that may pop up on our vehicles but there is also no substitute for the customizable real-time stats and gauges you can use to help diagnose problems you may hear or feel while driving but aren't quite throwing a code on your dash yet. I just don't think those features can be understated. That being said, for $10, these wired versions are hard to not grab just to toss in the glovebox of my wife's vehicle in case I'm not nearby.

I used the Carista EVO to lower the seat belt chime volume in my Tacoma among other settings. You will need a subscription for the phone app but you can get a one month.

It should turn off when you fasten your seatbelt.

From WM user reviews, it indicated that "NEXPOW offers lifetime free software updates for this unit by logging in to "elm327. com" to download "V519 Product Tool". The Antivirus software and Windows Defender both flagged it for Viruses". Anyone has any solutions? Thanks
